media Media Information information 2007-08 Idaho Vandal Basketball Evan Ellis The Voice of Vandal Basketball Evan Ellis returns for his second season as the voice of the Vandal men s basketball team after spending three seasons with the Vandal women s squad. He will provide play-by-play for all Idaho games. Ellis is the news director at KQQQ-1150 AM in Pullman, Wash., and has worked on the Northwest Dodge Dealers Vandal Radio Network in different roles for the past six years. He was hired in 2005 as the color commentator for Vandal football games and has worked as a play-by-play announcer for high schools in the palouse region for eight years. He and his wife, Alanna, live in Colfax. 2007-08 Idaho Vandal Basketball MEDIA POLICIES NEWS RELEASES All UI news releases are available via e-mail. If you would like to receive e-mail releases, please contact the media relations office. INTERVIEWS All coach and player interviews must be set up through the Media Relations Office (208) 885-0211. Players usually are available in early afternoon hours or after practice. WEEKLY NEWS CONFERENCE Head coach George Pfeifer has a weekly news conference Tuesday at noon (Pacific). The conferences are in Room 235W on the second floor of the Kibbie Dome. Teleconference access is available by contacting the media relations office. Pfeifer also is available for individual interviews, which can be set up through the Media Relations Office. VIDEO/AUDIO REQUESTS Weekly video interviews with Pfeifer and selected players are provided by the UI Media Relations and University Communications and Marketing. For video feeds or tapes, contact the Media Relations Office. PRACTICE POLICY Practices are open, although video photography may be limited during particular segments of practice. All photographers and reporters are asked to check in with the Media Relations office prior to attending a practice session. VISITING TV/RADIO Incoming or 800-service calls are available. Contact the Media Relations Office for further information. CREDENTIALS Season credentials will be issued to all media outlets who regularly cover University of Idaho athletics. Individual game credentials for visiting teams should be requested one week prior to the game. PARKING Parking passes will be issued on a game-by-game basis. Members of the media who regularly cover Vandal athletics are encouraged to obtain a media parking pass from UI Parking and Information Services, which is located in the North Campus Center. This will make access to the Kibbie Dome parking lot more convenient for weekday interviews. POST-GAME POLICY The University of Idaho lockerroom is closed to all members of the media. After a 10-minute cooling off period, the visiting coach and selected players will be made available in an interview area outside their lockerroom or in the media room on the second floor of the Kibbie Dome. Idaho players and coaches will follow. Post-game stat packets will be handed out during the post-game conference. Members of the media are welcome to use the Media Relations Office to file stories.
