RECRUITMENT INITIATIVES Type of Recruitment Initiative 1 Host event/program sponsored by or on behalf of a community organization related to career opportunities in broadcasting On June 19, 2013, our SEU hosted a group of about thirty (30) children from Natures Child Care that were learning about news and broadcast communications. The students toured our facilities lead by our SEU s Marketing Director during which they talked about how radio stations operate. The students were introduced to SEU staff members who explained a bit about what they do at the Stations. A number of these students were given the opportunity to produce a commercial spot. After the tour, the group assembled in the SEU s conference room for lunch and a question-and-answer session. 2 Internship Program During this reporting period, our SEU hosted two student interns from Boise State University one from late June through late August 2013 and one from January through May These interns were supervised by our Marketing Director and assisted with the preparation and implementation of the SEU s promotional events. 4

5 Type of Recruitment Initiative 3 Participate in event/program sponsored by or on behalf of a community organization related to career opportunities in broadcasting 4 Participate in event/program sponsored by or on behalf of an educational institution related to career opportunities in broadcasting On July 19, 2013, our SEU s Market Manager moderated a panel discussion entitled, What are Employees Looking for and Where Do We Find Them, during the Idaho State Broadcasters convention at Sun Valley, Idaho. The panelists discussed what those in traditional broadcast media can do to attract young people/college graduates to the business as well as the many career opportunities available in both radio and television. On August 21, 2013, a Western Oregon University student working on a college project about careers in radio, with an emphasis on sales, met with our SEU s Market Manager at our studios in Boise to obtain his expert input about a sales career in broadcasting. Following their meeting, our Market Manager gave this student a tour of our facilities during which he listened to and observed on-air broadcasts. 5 Participate in Job Fair On September 5, 2013, our SEU participated in a job fair sponsored by the Idaho Business League at the Riverside Hotel in Boise. SEU representatives spoke with attendees about career opportunities in broadcasting and job openings within the SEU. SEU participants included our Sales Managers. As the media sponsor of this event, all SEU stations promoted this job fair over the air. 5

6 Type of Recruitment Initiative 6 Mentoring Program During the first quarter of 2014, our SEU s KTIK-FM On-Air Sports Talk Personality ( Sports Talk Personality ) mentored a Nampa Christian High School student. The student attended a Boise State University basketball game with our Sports Talk Personality and listened and watched as he provided play-byplay commentary. Following the game, the student was encouraged to ask questions. This experience prepared the student for providing play-by-play commentary for three high school basketball games. Our Sports Talk Personality met with this student after each high school game to review the audio tape of the game, critique his performance and encourage him to further hone his skills as a sports announcer. 7 Host event/program for/on behalf of a community organization relating to career opportunities in broadcasting. On March 4, 2014, our SEU hosted an open house for members of the Idaho Business League ( IBL ). This networking event brought business and community leaders together in an informal setting to share information about their businesses and develop relationships. IBL members and their guests were given a tour of the radio stations and had the opportunity to meet staff and learn more about careers in broadcasting. 8 Participate in Job Fair On April 15, 2014, our SEU participated in a job fair sponsored by the Idaho Business League at the Boise Hotel and Conference Center. SEU representatives spoke with attendees about career opportunities in broadcasting and job openings within the SEU. SEU participants included our Sales Managers. As the media sponsor of this event, all SEU stations promoted this job fair over the air. 6

7 Type of Recruitment Initiative 9 Host event/program for/on behalf of an educational institution relating to career opportunities in broadcasting On February 19, 2014, one of our SEU s On- Air Personalities met with students from Highlands Elementary School at our studios in Boise to show them how to produce a Public Service Announcement ( PSA ) spot for their school learning project. With the guidance of our On-Air Personality, the students wrote and produced the PSA and then experienced the process of recording the PSA. 7
