FISHBOWL WORKSHOPS Fishbowl workshops are designed to facilitate informed, dynamic discussions between alumni and students on various topics: Sustainable product development, from creative research to market introduction The energy challenge : what models and countries to follow? How sustainability is reshaping our cities? What is the most critical to get out of poverty? Accelerating the Transition towards a sustainable economy, hosted by Greenflex OPEN SPACE Open Space Technology is one way to enable all kinds of people to gather and contribute to inspired meetings and events. In Open Space meetings, participants create and manage their own agenda of parallel working sessions around a central theme of strategic importance. Our forum will take place for about 2 hours and will help us better connect to each other, share ideas and take action in a more efficient way in order to answer that question: How do we build a stronger alumni network that brings value to our careers, organizations and the world? Come as you are and with your ideas and suggestions around this question. In about 2 hours, all the issues will be raised and we will together build the first steps for action! Animated by NoveTerra is a network of experts and international researchers specialised in shifting organisations and business models into their sustainable reinvention. We facilitate laboratories of reinvention with a global approach, combining our knowledge of new business models (functional, collaborative, circular economies, etc) and our innovative facilitation and prototyping knowhow. 05
SPEAKERS Bénédicte FAIVRE-TAVIGNOT, HEC Academic Director of the MSc in Sustainable Development (MISD) Benedicte Faivre-Tavignot is the Executive Director of the HEC Chair Social Business / Enterprise and Poverty, and Academic Director of the HEC Paris Master of Science in Sustainable Development, which she cocreated in 2003. She s now also Executive Director of the SnO Center (Society & Organizations Center). Her research focus is on reverse innovation; she s studying the processes through which social businesses and Base of the Pyramid business models can be a lever for innovation and strategic renewal. She received her PhD in Management Sciences in 2012. She worked 15 years in consulting and training, in Eurequip Consulting Group, and in Philips as controller. She graduated from HEC (1988). Maximulien ROUER, Greenflex Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Greenflex Maximilien Rouer s goal is to urgently adapt society to major environmental changes. To this end, he promotes technological innovation and economic preparation for the social-ecological transition. An Engineer, holding a Master degree from AgroParisTech, and a Master of Cell Biology and Plant Physiology (University of Paris VII), Maximilien is an expert on environmental issues: climate change, energy, biodiversity, resources, toxicity / health. He is the creator of a new Positive Economy theory and he has completed more than 500 conferences on the subject. Chairman and Founding Partner of BeCitizen, he works with his clients to devise business models that will accelerate the transition to a Positive Economy. Since 2014, Maximilien is also Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Greenflex. 06
Nathalie MEUSY, European Space Agency Head of the Coordination Office on Sustainable Development Nathalie Meusy is, since November 2008, the Head of the Coordination Office on Sustainable Development at the European Space Agency (ESA) in the Director General s Cabinet. Prior to the creation of this office, she launched the sustainable development initiative at ESA in 2007. Nathalie Meusy obtained law degrees from the Paris XI and Besançon Universities and studied thereafter social sciences at La Sorbonne University (Paris). She started her career in journalism and intellectual property related to photographic work (Magnum Photos Agency). Thereafter, Ms. Meusy joined ESA in 1987 as a lawyer/administrator in the Human Resources Department. She supported, as Head of Social Policies, all ESA establishments and directorates from a legal and social point of view for 15 years. Tristan LECOMTE, Pur Projet Co-founder and President Tristan Lecomte, graduated from HEC, initially took the path of working for multinationals. But the desire to work in accordance with his convictions pushed him to found Alter Eco, in 1998, now a leading organic and fair trade company on the french market, also operating on the US and Australia s ones. Tristan founded and now leads Pur Projet, a collective organization assisting companies to regenerate the ecosystems they depend upon to make their supply chains and business sustainable, integrating environmental and social stakes into their core values and activities. We call it Insetting : offsetting the footprint of a company locally and within its own industry; it brings in innovation and creates shared value, transforming the pure intentions of a company into pure projects. Tristan shares his commitment and enthusiasm in seminars, and in various books and documentaries on Sustanability. He has been appointed as Social Entrepreneurs of the Year 2013 by the Schwab Foundation. 07
Julie Oguez, The G. Lab Co-founder Julie Oguez (MISD05) founded The G. Lab to push brands to move beyond a conventional approach to surprise and delight customers with a sustainable offer. Besides the MISD, she holds a certifacte in fashion design & marketing (Central Saint Martins), a master in international law (Paris II University), and she followed art history evening courses at Ecole du Louvre. This education, combined with her experience abroad (including 4 years in Hong Kong and 1 year research travel in South- America) allowed her to develop a cross-disciplinary approach and to work with international multidisciplinary teams to help them to see the issues that make them inspired. Julie also loves to imagine creative, alternative and entertaining ways to introduce sustainable products & services to the market. She set up the first pop-up store dedicated to eco-fashion & green design in Hong Kong. Stephane RIOT, NoveTerra Founder Stéphane Riot founded NoveTerra in 2005 to help organisations and individuals move towards a sustainable transformation. He is well-known for his comprehensive approach combining expertise in sustainable business models, collective intelligence, strategy, and variations in human behaviour. Prior to founding NoveTerra, Stéphane was strategic consultant for multinational groups as well as Group Vivendi s first Sustainability Director. Stéphane also co-authored Long-Live the Co-Révolution! for a collaborative society, the first essay in France explaining the stakes of the collaborative economy and its various impacts on society and business models. 08
