DESIGN THINKING WORKSHOP 3-Day International Executive Program October 12-14, 2015, Monday-Wednesday Trump Ocean Club International Hotel & Tower, Panama
DESIGN THINKING WORKSHOP Location: Saboga Room, Trump Ocean Club International Hotel & Tower Panama, Panama Duration: October 12-14, 2015, Monday-Wednesday 3 days, 9am to 6pm 2 PROGRAM OVERVIEW Design Thinking is a new way of approaching problems. It begins with empathy and a deep understanding of human needs or desires that could be fulfilled by design. Throughout this process, designers are encouraged to think outside of the box and to draw on many, seemingly unrelated sources of inspiration. The great potential of Design Thinking is that it may combine seemingly unrelated ideas into novel invention that is not merely useful, but also artistically beautiful and emotionally meaningful. From this point of departure, Design Thinking uses collaboration and repetitive prototyping to find a possible design solution to a well-defined problem. Why does it matter? The high failure rate of new projects to meet the required return on investment (as high as 96% according to a study by the Doblin Group) shows that the 21st century requires a method of confronting problems that goes beyond traditional approach. It is crucial for professionals to become innovative problem solvers and develop strong communication skills to rise with the challenges of our times. Design thinking is one such method, and has been celebrated across disciplines for leading to powerful solutions. The ability to find solutions to problems using creativity, reasoning, past experiences, available information and resources can indicate how well you will lead when you are put in charge. It can also be a good indicator of how well you think on your feet or how innovative you will be for the company/organization. - Ken Barns, Career Advisor Today there is no dichotomy between thinking and design in multinational corporations. The market isn t asking for choices. It is asking for options. Some companies want only strategy, some only design, many want both. -Bloomberg Business Week.
