Conductors are the only members of the orchestra not making any sound, and yet, they create order out of chaos, attaining high degrees of artistic quality from a diverse group of musicians playing different instruments. This means working with a group of highly skilled professionals, who need to coordinate and adapt themselves to each other to perform as a unit. Conductors are also called Maestros, which means teacher. They need to be visionary and inspirational leaders, as well as teachers and coaches who develop their teams to achieve perfection. Business leaders face similar challenges. They need to create a high degree of harmony in their businesses, allowing a diversity of talents to act in synchrony to achieve their vision. Elements such as motivation, technical knowledge, passion, strategic planning, curiosity, introspection, and understanding of individuals are needed to succeed as the leader of a business or an orchestra. This leadership development program is designed to improve the leadership skills of senior managers through the teachings and experiences of renowned orchestra conductors. Co-author of the memoirs of singer/conductor Plácido Domingo and conductor Sir Georg Solti. Author of over 700 articles for The New Yorker, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Times Literary Supplement (London), La Stampa, and dozens of other newspapers, magazines, literary journals, and record companies. Once your registration is received, you will be contacted by IE staff to confirm your inscription. FEES The 6,900 fee covers tuition, course materials, coffee breaks, and lunches throughout the four-day program. Also included are the welcome reception, a special dinner at the Teatro Real, as well as transportation to and from the Teatro Real and the Auditorio Nacional. Special concessions Concessions are available for IE alumni, groups of executives attending from the same organization, participants registering for more than one program, early-bird inscriptions, and other cases.
