The many important regulatory, market and technology trends of today have made it clear that the conventional way that utilities conduct business must change in order to meet the shifting landscape of energy. How will utilities restructure their operations and business models? What will the utility of the future look like? Five leading women executives will give their perspectives on these questions while focusing on specific areas of change. Session will be chaired by Deloris Duquette, Area Vice President, Sales Operations and Development, Electric, Itron Distributed Generation and Managing Customer Expectations - Caren Anders, Vice President, Emerging Technology and Transmission Affairs, Duke Energy Electric and Gas Transmission Delivery Systems: What Will it Take to get the Right Infrastructure in Place to Meet 21st Century Energy Needs? - Mary Ellen Paravalos, Director, Strategy and Performance, National Grid Competitive Transmission - Kristine Schmidt, Vice President of Regulated Grid Development, ITC Holdings Corp. Although he was addressing these differences from a personal relationship point of view, the insights he provides can apply to professional relationships as well. In the corporate world, organizational politics and the development of influencing skills is an important component of leadership and is vital for a woman s career advancement. The ability to effectively influence your organization, your peers, and your management, starts with solid and productive work relationships. For a female in a male dominated industry, it is essential to understand how men approach issues and build support for their ideas. By gaining this understanding, you will be better able to approach your male counterparts to influence and build support for your own ideas. In this session, you will hear three senior level energy executives discuss their strategies for developing political savvy and effective influence as well as their personal outcomes. Moderator: Tanya Meck, EVP & Managing Partner, Global Strategy Group - Caren Anders, Vice President, Emerging Technology and Transmission Affairs, Duke Energy - Jo Biggers, Vice President of Finance, MISO - Becky Harrison, CEO, GridWise 3

AGENDA Tuesday, June 2, 2015 (Continued) 12:30 1:45 p.m. Group Luncheon 1:45 3:00 p.m. Leadership and Gender This is not the average conference session on women s leadership development. We aren t going to tell women to speak up, don t take it personally, use strong words to describe themselves, don t be afraid to take a risk. Instead, we re going to talk about how women can be their authentic selves as leaders how they can play to their strengths so that organizations reap the benefits of having both women and men at the table. In this session, we ll review recent research on the gender differences in the ways men and women develop as leaders and discuss how those findings can be applied to both individuals and organizations. We ll also talk about the unconscious biases women face in most workplaces and listen to practical advice from our panelists on how to address those barriers constructively. - Michelle Blaise, Senior Vice President of Technical Services, ComEd - Janice Dickstein, Vice President of Human Resources, ISO New England - Julie Graber, Managing Director, Ion - Kristine Schmidt, Vice President of Regulated Grid Development, ITC Holdings Corp. 3:00 3:30 p.m. Networking Break 3:30 4:30 p.m. Increasing the Resiliency and Reliability of the Energy System The energy industry is facing new challenges due to increasing risks, cyber security threats, regulatory obligations and compliance mandates. Electric utilities need to transform their business models in order to increase resiliency and reliability while remaining competitive. Session chaired by: Vicki Trees, Director of Marketing, Landis+Gyr Identifying and Addressing Risks to Reliability The North American Electric Reliability Corporation is responsible for assuring the reliability of the bulk power system. NERC develops and enforces Reliability Standards, annually assesses seasonal and long-term reliability, monitors the bulk power system through system awareness and events analysis, and operates the Electric Sector Information Sharing and Analysis Center. This session will take a look at the various roles and responsibilities of NERC as it works with owners, operators and users to identify and address risks to reliability, through standards, assessments, alerts and guidelines. - Janet Sena, Senior Vice President and Director of Policy and External Affairs, NERC Cybersecurity as an Organizational Culture Energy companies have traditionally evolved with silos that have distinct sets of objectives, vocabularies, and professional cultures. However, all members of the organization have a significant contribution to make in creating a more secure organization. We will explore how to provide a common language and agreement on cybersecurity in order to achieve the culture of security that everyone in your organization adopts. - Nadya Bartol, VP of Industry Affairs and Cybersecurity Strategist, Utilities Telecom Council REGISTER 4601 TODAY! AGENDA Tuesday, June 2, 2015 (Continued) 4:30 5:00 p.m. Keynote Address: Women in Innovation The Key to Economic Transformation Economic transformation comes through an insight-driven, innovation-centric culture, which can be integrated into all levels of a business ecosystem. The corporate transformation that takes place catalyzes economic growth in the global marketplace. Learn how everyone can innovate, discover, and create at all levels by thinking outside the box, being receptive to change, and being agile in implementation. Dream big, otherwise you won t know what s truly possible... - Ria Persad, CEO, StatWeather, Inc. 5:00 6:00 p.m. Networking Reception Wednesday, June 3, 2015 8:00 8:30 a.m. Continental Breakfast 8:30 9:45 a.m. Two Women s Journeys to the C-Suite Although women s participation in the labor force has dramatically expanded in the last 30 years, the energy industry lags behind as an employer of women. According to a 2013 report by Catalyst, only 23.3% of utility employees in the U.S. are female and a mere 12.7% of women occupy executive officer positions. In this session, two successful women will share their inspiring personal stories of how they beat the odds and navigated through a predominately male industry to reach the highest levels of their organizations. Session chaired by Linda E. Brown, Vice President North American Markets, West, Enterprise Software, ABB Inc. - Paula Gold-Williams, Group EVP Financial and Administrative Services, CFO & Treasurer, CPS Energy - Wanda Reder, Chief Strategy Officer, S&C Electric 9:45-10:15 a.m. Federal Regulation of GHG Emissions: Implications for the Power Market In this session, we will take a look at the EPA s Clean Power Plan and the pending rules for the regulation of methane from oil and gas operations. We will discuss the potential for these rules to shape the future of the electricity market. - Emily Schilling, Of Counsel, Holland & Hart LLP 10:15 10:45 a.m. Networking Break 10:45 a.m. 12:00 p.m. Getting More Women on Corporate Boards Numerous studies have documented the direct, positive relationship between the participation of women on corporate boards and overall organizational performance. But the number of women serving on these boards has barely budged in the past five years. Women still hold less than 20% of the board seats in the Fortune 500 companies and fewer than 14% of the seats among the Russell 3000 companies. Even worse news for us, in industry-by-industry comparisons, the energy industry comes in last with a six-year average of only 10.9% women board members. Join us as we dig in to the numbers and talk with a panel of experts to answer these questions and more: What will it take to move the needle on gender parity on corporate boards? What are organizations, at both the local and the national level, doing to advance women to corporate boards? How can you market yourself for a board seat? What should you do to prepare yourself for service on a corporate board? - Vicky Bailey, Principal, Anderson Stratton Enterprises, LLC - Donna Evans, CEO, Women s Leadership Foundation - Paula Gold-Williams, Group EVP Financial and Administrative Services, CFO & Treasurer, CPS Energy - Julie Graber, Managing Director, Ion 12:00 p.m. Conference Adjourns 5
