The past few years have seen many changes in the electricity industry. Ontario s Feed-in Tariff program has resulted in an increase in renewable energy generation and the successful elimination of coal-fired generation. The continuing debt legacy of nuclear and hydro project cost over-runs from the 1970 s and 1980 s aggregated with the present renewal costs will likely drive higher electricity rates for ratepayers.
