In addition, students design a group project that they implement. 2002 Practicum: Special Populations Site: Croyden Avenue School Population: Autistic impaired and developmentally disabled students Duties: Discrete trial-training with autistic impaired individuals, ages 2-6 years. Trials included the use of positive reinforcement to increase appropriate behavior (including ADLs), PECS for non-verbal clients, reinforcer assessments each week, as well as penalty (time-out from attention) and extinction for inappropriate behaviors. In addition to discrete trials, duties included the delivery of non-contingent social reinforcement every 30 seconds during each two-hour session. 9
