Please Note In all cases you will need to be the local administrator of the pc you are installing the print drivers on. You must be connected via the wireless Eduroam connection before you can print from your laptop. Mac OS X 10.5/10.6 Click here for guide or go to Page 9 Please note that currently no 64 Bit versions of the Windows Operating Systems are supported yet. To check whether you are running a 32 or 64 Bit operating system please do the following: For Windows XP Click Start, then click Run, type sysdm.cpl then click OK. Under the general tab on the system properties window under system it will state if it is 64 bit or not. For Windows Vista/7 Click Start, type system in the start search box (one just above the start button) and click system in the programs list that appears. Under the general tab on the system properties window it will state what Bit version Vista/7 is. Please note: While this facility is available we cannot guarantee this service as individual laptops may have separate issues preventing it from printing in this manner. Guide for Windows XP 1. Open a run prompt by pressing the Windows key and R on the keyboard simultaneously Alternatively you can go to Start > Run 2. Type the following into the Open field as shown: \\print2\standard-colour-mobile If experiencing problems alternatively try \\print2.uopnet.plymouth.ac.uk\standar d-colour-mobile Then click OK. 3. Enter your username and password in the prompt which appears. Your username is entered in the format UOPNET\username For example: UOPNET\jsmith100 University of Plymouth Wireless Printing Guide Page 5

4. The computer will prompt you to accept installation of the driver from the server. Click Yes to proceed. You may be prompted for your computer password if one is set. 5. Once the print driver has installed successfully a window will appear as shown confirming that you are now connected to the printer. This is a shared print queue and you may see other users print jobs here. You will only have permissions to delete or view the properties of your own print jobs here. Close this window, you can now print from your applications. How to Print To print to the University printers you must select the Standard Colour Mobile printer. Once the print job has been sent you can print your document on any University Open Access Canon printer. Guide for Mac 0S X 10.5/10.6 Note: Installing University printers on a Mac requires the addition of some files to your computer and requires you to know the admin password for your Mac and your network username and password. Without one or more of these things you will be unable to complete the process. 1. Download the drivers https://exchange.plymouth.ac.uk/intranet/eduroam/public/wirelessprinting/o101eenx. dmg. This is a.dmg copy of the installer file for the Canon IRC3080 device hosted by Canon at canon.co.uk. 2. Open the downloaded file o101eenx.dmg. This will open a window called uk_eng. 3. 11. Open the system menu by clicking the apple icon top-left and select System Preferences 12. Select Print & Fax 13. Click on the + button to add a printer. University of Plymouth Wireless Printing Guide Page 12

14. Right click or hold down the control key and click on the toolbar and select Customize Toolbar. 15. Drag the Advanced icon to the toolbar as shown. Click Done 16. Click on the Advanced icon you have just added and then click on the arrows as indicated below and select Windows from the list. University of Plymouth Wireless Printing Guide Page 13

17. In the URL field, type in the following: smb://username:pass WORD@UOPNET/PRINT 2/Standard-Colour-Mobile- Mac Substitute the USERNAME and PASSWORD with your own log in university credentials 18. Click on the arrows as indicated below and select Select Printer Software 19. Click in the top box as shown below and type in 3080 University of Plymouth Wireless Printing Guide Page 14
