The move towards cashless Due to an abundance of cost-saving and revenue-generating benefits, many festivals and live events are looking to adopt cashless payment systems. While early versions of cashless systems magnetic strip cards or plastic tokens have had limited success in some live event environments, only recently has RFID made a cohesive, failsafe system a reality. In March 2012, Intellitix formed a strategic alliance with Metapay to create Intellipay, the first cashless system to fully integrate with our access control and social media RFID technology. By combining technologies, we enable a convenient, secure experience for the event goer that requires just a single RFID device or wristband. For the event organizer, cashless payment systems offer an increased spend per head, substantial administrative savings and a dramatic reduction in theft and leakage. Intellitix RFID technology is underpinned by several business models that allow us flexibility, and to deliver precisely tailored systems. Our ultimate goal is to be a revenue generator rather than a cost

How it works 1 2 3 4 The Intellitix semi-open loop cashless payment system has been designed with both the customer and vendor experience in mind 1. Event credit is loaded onto a patron s individual event profile either in advance or during an event. 2. Event profile is linked to an RFID wristband, card or device, which contains a unique ID number. 3. Vendors deduct credit from patron s RFID band using Intellitix hardware. 4. Vendor s transactions are reconciled within two days of the event finishing.

Robust system hardware Kiosks Hardwired kiosks allow patrons to buy event credit, check the balance on their RFID wristbands, personalize their wristbands and view transaction history. Terminals To tailor requirements to your event, a range of Ingenico terminals and desktop readers, and M3 POS handhelds are available. Terminals are weatherproof, with a long battery life and can automatically email receipts. PDQ Local PDQ machines are integrated into the cashless system for use at staffed booths.

Fully integrated software Intellitix white label customer interface sits seamlessly inside your event website. Patrons can personalize their profile (including linking in their Facebook or Twitter profiles), buy event credit and review transaction history.

Case study Sziget festival Hungary s Sziget Festival was one of four festivals that adopted Metapay s system and became 100% cashless in 2011, working with payment sponsor MasterCard PayPass. 98% of surveyed respondents were very pleased with the system, 93% finding it faster and more convenient than cash. 385,000 visitors 1,200 points of sale payment terminals 38 top up points (4 cashiers in each at peak times) 5.2million transactions Less than 1 seconds per payment 99.99% service level
