NEW Accommodation Our new hall of residence is situated within easy walking distance of our school within the University College London (UCL) campus: one of the top five universities in the United Kingdom. All our students will have access to some of the common areas such as TV room, music room, games room and great social activities. Rooms: twin or triple rooms with washbasins and internet connection. Bathrooms are shared between bedrooms in a ratio of 5 bedrooms to 1 bathroom. The linen is provided and rooms are cleaned twice a week. We have reserved single rooms only for group leaders. Food: we provide all 3 meals in the nearby UCL canteen where students will be able to choose from 3 to 5 options. A packed lunch is provided on Saturdays and Sundays. Social Programme We offer a Social Programme seven days a week, with excursions to the main attractions in London; museums, parks, historical buildings, galleries and many more. Some questions How much English do I need to know to be able to apply to come on one of your courses? We need you to have an elementary level of English. We will send you an electronic placement test and you will know which class you will be in before you arrive. How much should I bring to spend in London? I hear it is expensive! You need to allow around 1 per day for your daily ticket to travel around London. If you are attending our Young Learner Summer School then 30 will be enough for a few treats. What happens if there is an emergency? We have a trained first aid officer with the students while in class and during excursions. Risk assessments are carefully carried out according to British Council guidelines. As well as a 24 hour emergency number, there will be a telephone number for your group leader in the welcome pack you will get once your place on the course has been confirmed. It also has the details of where you will be staying. Your parents will therefore have a number of ways to contact you in an emergency.
