Perpetuity s sister company Linx International provides consultancy in security and risk management. Distance Learning Distance learning provides flexible learning, allowing you to adapt and fit your studying around current work and family commitments. You can learn wherever and whenever you want and obtain an accredited qualification without disrupting your regular daily life. Our Distance Learning courses currently have three intakes, January, May and September and range from 6-12 months depending upon which course you select. Whilst working towards your qualification you will have access to highly experienced tutors via email or telephone for support and guidance and our helpdesk for any administrative or technical queries. Perpetuity Training and the Security Institute Perpetuity Training is proud to be associated with the Security Institute (SyI) and to be the exclusive provider of the Institute s two membership qualifications the Certificate in Security Management and the Diploma in Security Management. The Security Institute is the largest association for security professionals in the UK, and aims to raise the professionalism of security both in the UK and internationally. The SyI Certificate and Diploma courses provide security professionals the opportunity to gain an internationally recognised security qualification, enhance their skills, improve their career progression and enjoy the numerous benefits that come with membership of the SyI. The Certificate in Security Management results in a BTEC Level 3 qualification, along with membership of the SyI at a minimum of Associate level (subject to application and validation) and provides an ideal foundation in security management. The Diploma in Security Management is the flagship qualification of the SyI, and results in a BTEC Level 5 Professional Diploma, along with full membership of the Institute and the entitlement to use the letters MSyI after your name (subject to application and validation). The Diploma is the highest qualification offered by the SyI. 5

Certificate in Security Management BTEC Level 3 The Certificate is an internationally recognised qualification that results in a BTEC Level 3 Advanced Certificate in Security Management awarded by Edexcel. Successful completion of the Certificate facilitates membership of the Security Institute (SyI) at a minimum of Associate level (subject to application and validation). The Certificate offers the security professional the chance to enhance their skills and improve their career progression. What you will learn The course is delivered by distance learning and consists of six modules; three of which are mandatory and three of which are chosen from optional modules. It is an ideal introductory course and is suited to those entering the sector for the first time and those who have worked in comparable areas such as Health & Safety, Fire, Law Enforcement and the Armed Services. Programme and Support The course is delivered and assessed entirely by distance learning giving you the advantage of being able to start the course at various points throughout the year and study from anywhere in the world. Whilst you are working towards the qualification you will have contact with experienced tutors who are all members of the SyI and holders of Masters Degrees in Security management and other security related disciplines. Diploma in Security Management BTEC Level 5 The Diploma is an Edexcel/BTEC Level 5 qualification and is widely recognised across the sector as a high level security qualification; it is the Security Institute s most advanced security management course. The Diploma leads to full Membership of the Security Institute and the entitlement to use the letters MSyI after the holder s name (subject to application and validation). What you will learn The course consists of five mandatory Modules. Assessment is by coursework that is marked and returned as the course progresses. The Modules are: Understanding security Threats to security Risk management The legal system Management Who will benefit The course will benefit anyone seeking professional recognition and qualification within the security sector at middle and senior management levels. The course is open to all those who operate within the private and public security sectors and have a minimum of 5 years security management experience or who have successfully completed the SyI Certificate in Security Management. People who have previously taken the qualification include security managers, health and safety managers, senior police officers, fire service personnel and experienced members of the armed services. Programme and Support The course is delivered and assessed entirely by distance learning giving you the advantage of being able to start the course at various points throughout the year and study from anywhere in the world. Whilst you are working towards the qualification you will have contact with experienced tutors who are all members of the SyI and holders of Masters Degrees in Security management and other security related disciplines. Further Study The Diploma is equivalent to a Foundation Degree and is recognised by a number of Universities and Colleges: University of Portsmouth - holders of the Security Institute Diploma in Security Management receive 80 credits towards the BSc in Security and Risk Management. University of Leicester - completion of the Diploma entitles students to exemption from 25% of the Foundation Degree in Security and Risk Management course and a reduction in the course fee. 7

Blackburn College - students completing the two year Foundation Degree in Security Management are awarded both the FdA in Security Management and the Security Institute s Diploma in Security Management. Buckinghamshire New University holders of the Security Institute Diploma in Security Management will receive 60 credits against Year 2 of the BA (Hons) Security Consultancy 3 years distance learning course Duration: Fee: Dates: 12 months 1,630 (+VAT) per person Intakes in January, May, and September This course is eligible for ELC credits and resettlement grants - our ELCAS provider number is 1787. 8

Short Courses If you are looking for a course that will enable you to quickly gain an accredited qualification, then our short courses may be an effective solution. Our scheduled courses are typically delivered over 3 or 5 days, followed by a written project assignment which must be completed within a short period after the course to enable you to gain the accredited qualification. Should your organisation have a number of people to be trained at the same time we can deliver the required course at a location of choice if required and minimum learner numbers are met. Terms and Conditions Bookings All bookings should be accompanied by a signed and completed booking form. Payment Payment can be made by cheque payable to Perpetuity Training Ltd, by Visa or MasterCard, or by BACS transfer. The training fee includes attendance at the training session, lunch and refreshments, where the course is held at our training venue. NB Payment is required, in full, within 30 days of booking. For bookings made within four weeks of the course, payment must accompany booking. Accommodation Accommodation is not provided (unless otherwise stated) and is the responsibility of the learner. Cancellations Cancellations will only be accepted in writing and are subject to a 50% administrative charge. However no refunds will be made if a cancellation is received four weeks prior to the start of the course. Change of delegate Should a delegate be unable to attend, a substitution may be sent at no extra cost, providing Perpetuity Training is informed of this in writing (for registration purposes) at least two weeks before the course is due to commence and any course eligibility criteria can still be met. Course cancellation Perpetuity Training reserves the right to cancel an event at any time, without liability, in which case all training fees will be refunded in full. However, Perpetuity Training cannot be held liable for any other expenses incurred by participants or their companies due to the cancellation. Changes to advertised details Perpetuity Training reserves the right to change the venue/speakers/presentations at any time, with or without notice.
