Your personal brand A single word that describes you: One word that is the heart and soul of your brand. Your platform: What is your niche? What you want to be known as an expert in? (Be specific) Trends in your industry/niche: What changes are happening in your platform/niche that you can use to your advantage or need to be aware of? Competitors: Who are the people in your niche that already have a profile/personal brand? Your influencers: Who needs to know about you, who can share your personal brand? Perception: How do your influencers currently perceive you? Brand voice: Think about your persona, tone, language and purpose ie funny, warm, scientific, educational, complex.
Your personal brand statement Be unique, creative and authentic. I use public relations and social media tools to inspire businesses and people to achieve their dreams. Amplifying your personal brand Media: Offer yourself as an expert to interview and commentator to key media. Content creation: Share your own content and expertise through online articles, blogging and guest blogging. Social media: Ensure your social media is consistent with your personal brand including profiles and content.
At work If you do your best at work someone will notice you. True? No. You need to market yourself. Promote your expertise within: articles on intranet, committees, seminars. Behaviours: understand that your behaviours impact your reputation. Network: Build relationships with influencers and find sponsors. Be consistent: live your brand, always.
