Apply to study with us A step-by-step guide for international students STEP 1: Choose a Course and Campus Read our course list and identify courses that are of interest to you. ou may nominate up to two courses in the Application Form. Check the academic and English language requirements for entry into your selected course(s) at the orthern Sydney Institute. Most courses will require English language level of 5.5 Academic in the IELTS testing system (with no individual band lower than 5.0) or a TAFE SW Certificate III in English for Further Study. Most diploma courses require completion of ear 12 or equivalent. STEP 2: Choose the correct Application Form For English Course only, please download the form from www.nsi.tafensw.edu.au/international For English and vocational courses or for vocational course only, please complete the TAFE SW International Student Application Form for Vocational and English Language Courses. If you wish to study any of our TAFE SW degrees, please complete the TAFE SW Higher Education International Student Application Form. If you wish to study any of our Diploma to Degree () programs, please complete the TAFE SW International Student Application Form for Vocational and English Language Courses. The University Application Form can be downloaded from www.decinternational.nsw.edu.au/study/tafe/study-options/ university-pathways STEP 3: Complete and Submit the Application Fill in your International Student Application Form. If you do not meet the required level of English for your course, nominate the starting date for your English course in your application form. ou need to supply certified copies of your academic records. This includes passport, birth certificate and English language test result (if applicable). A certified copy is a duplicate of the original document which has been signed and dated by either your agent, a government official, Public otary or Justice of the Peace confirming that they have sighted the original. Faxed versions of certified copies are not acceptable. Make sure that you read and sign the declaration acknowledging you have understood and agree to comply with the TAFE SW Terms and Conditions. Applications to study at The orthern Sydney Institute are processed at a central location. Send the completed International Student Application Form to: DEC International Students Centre Locked Bag 53 Darlinghurst SW 1300 Australia Email: intadmissions@det.nsw.edu.au ou can also apply online at: www.decinternational.nsw.edu.au/study/tafe STEP 4: Receive your Offer Assuming you meet the entry criteria and provide the correct documents, you are sent a Letter of Offer for the course. It will come with an invoice statement advising fee payments and other charges including the Overseas Student Health Cover and an Administration Charge ($100 to $150). It will also include information about your student visa application and, if you have requested it, airport pick-up and accommodation fees. Be patient. It may take up to a week during busy periods for the International Students Centre to process your application and respond to you. STEP 5: Accept your Offer To accept the offer, pay the fees and charges listed on the invoice. Details of how to pay are included with your offer. When your payment is received, you will be issued with an electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) and the campus orientation details. ou use the CoE to apply to the Australian Embassy or Consulate offshore, or the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) in Australia, for your student visa which allows you to enter or stay in Australia. STEP 6: Other Important Information The Australian Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) determines the criteria for the granting of student visas. TAFE SW diploma and certificate courses fall under the Vocational Education and Training (subclass 572) and TAFE SW Degrees fall under Higher Education (subclass 573). Refer to www.immi.gov.au/students/ students/chooser for more information or contact the Australian Consulate or Embassy.
