iphone and ipad Guide Connecting your iphone or ipad with PrinterOn This guide will take you through the steps required to connect and use the mobile printing system on your iphone. *Please note that you will need to be connected to the UniSA wireless network (not Eduroam) Step 1: Mobile printing requires the PrinterOn app which is available from the itunes App Store (you can also download and install here). It is a free app. Open the PrinterOn app from your device screen. Step 2: At the first screen: Tap Settings at the bottom right of the App Screen Step 3: In the Settings screen tap the Services button to set up your Services connection. Page 1 of 13
Step 4: Tap Add Service... Step 5: Fill in the Fields as follows: Server = itupw-cspo1.cw.unisa.edu.au Path: /cps SSL: ON Description = UniSA Mobile Printers Default Service = ON Test the service is working with the Test Service button Next tap to save your configuration. Then tap the back arrow to return to the Settings page. Step 6: On the Settings page tap the User Account button to configure your user account. Tap Add Account to enter your user details. Step 7: Add your UniSA User Account name to the Account field. E.g. blogs001. Add your UniSA user account password to the Password field. Add a Description for your account Make sure that both the PrinterOn Service and UniSA Mobile Printers services are set to ON. Next tap which saves your configuration. Then tap the back arrow until you return to the Default Home page. Step 8: Add the UniSA Printers to your App. Tap on the No Printer Selected button. Step 9: Tap the Search button to begin searching for your printers. Page 3 of 13
Step 10: In the search field type unisa and then tap Search. Step11: Two printers should appear in the list to choose from. Tap the Information symbol to open the printer s details. Step 12: Tap the Save button to add this printer to your Private Printers list for use at a later date. Tap the tick and then the back arrow. Then add to second printer in a similar manner. Step 13: To delete a saved printer: Tap on the button Tap here to change your printer. Step 14: Tap the information symbol for the printer you wish to delete. Step 15: Tap the Delete button to remove selected printer. Page 5 of 13
Printing from your iphone or ipad You are only able to print photos and websites from within the app, however an embedded link to PrinterOn will be available from within other third party apps such as *Email* (attachments only), Adobe Reader and Microsoft Office apps to allow you to print from them. Printing an email attachment Step 1: Open the email attachment Tap the Actions icon. Step 2: Tap on the Open in PrinterOn icon: Page 6 of 13
Step 3: Tap on this icon to change number of copies and also to select which pages you wish to print. Tap on University of South Australia button to choose a printer or simply tap Print. Job will start processing and you can check its progress by looking in Print History which appears at the bottom left of the screen once job has started to process. Print History shows the current print status as well as history of previous jobs. Go to printer to Tap and Collect your print job. Printing a document This example uses Adobe Acrobat, but the process is the same for other file types. Step 1: Open the app you require and open the document to be printed. Tap the Actions icon. Step 2: Tap Open In. Step 3: Tap the Open in PrinterOn icon: Step 4: Tap on this icon to change number of copies and also to select which pages you wish to print. Printing a Photograph Step 1: Open PrinterOn. Tap Photos Tap Camera Roll to access your photos. Select your photo of choice by tapping on it. Step 2: On selected photo preview page tap on the printer icon in the top right of your screen. Step 3: Page 9 of 13

Printing a web page Step 1: Open PrinterOn app Tap Web Step 2: Type in the address of the web page you want to print. Press Go on the keyboard to access the web page. Step 3: Page 10 of 13
Tap the Print icon at the top right of your screen. Step 4: Tap on this icon to change number of copies and also to select which pages you wish to print. Tap on University of South Australia button to choose black and white or colour printer or simply tap Print button, job will start processing. Check progress by looking in Print History which appears at the bottom left of the screen once job has started to process. Print History shows the current print status as well as history of previous jobs. Go to printer to Tap and Collect your printing. Printing from the Documents Option Step 1: Page 11 of 13
Tap on the Documents button Step 2: At this screen giving you have options of cloud based storage where you can print documents or pictures from. You must be signed into these apps on your device for it to be available to use for PrinterOn. You can check for more cloud storage options by tapping on More, any further options will be there and you will have to switch them on with the slider button on the right of the screen. Tap on the storage option you require and then navigate to the file or picture you wish to print, item will be downloaded. Page 12 of 13
Step 3: Tap on University of South Australia button to choose a printer or simply tap Print button, job will start processing and you can check it by looking in Print History which appears at the bottom left of the screen once job has started to process.
