TyreCheck Mobile Kit Troubleshooting All TyreCheck equipment is rigorously tested and optimized for use; however, issues that require user attention may still occur. Often, simple configuration adjustments can return the PDA to proper working order. Please reference this guide before contacting TyreCheck support. Contents: Problem 1. Problem 1. The PDA doesn t synchronize. There are a number of things that may interfere with PDA synchronization: PDA is connected to a computer. The PDA cannot connect to the internet. A proxy setting on the PDA is interfering with the connection. PDA network settings may be incorrect. PDA internet connection settings may be incorrect. Ensure the PDA is not connected to a computer. 1. Disconnect the PDA from any computers. A PC connection could disrupt the sync process. Check if the PDA can connect to the network When a synchronisation fails an error appears in the TyreCheck app. 1. Check if a synchronisation of a different type can complete. 2. Log into the TyreCheck application. 3. Tap the Settings icon. 4. Select Full from the synchronisation type menu (or Incremental if a full sync is failing). If the synchronisation continues to fail: 5. Tap on the magnifying glass on the upper left corner of the error message screen to view sync failure details. 6. Check through the error details for network or connectivity error. If a network error is indicated: 7. Log out of the TyreCheck application. 8. Restart the PDA, forcing the PDA to redetect a mobile mast. 9. Check if a synchronisation can complete. 10. Follow the below instructions to check PDA settings if the synchronisation continues to fail.
Verify the "No Proxy" setting. 1. Click the TyreCheck icon on the PDA home screen. 2. Click the Settings icon on the login screen. 3. Ensure the No Proxy (Bypass) button is set. 4. Click the Green Check button. Verify the network connection. 1. Tap the Top Bar on the PDA. 2. Tap the right arrow in the Status Bar. 3. Tap the Settings icon. 4. Scroll down and tap the Connections entry. 5. Tap the second Connections entry.
6. Tap Advanced in the menu bar. 7. Tap the Select Networks button. 8. Ensure both drop down lists are set to My ISP.
9. Click the OK button twice until the Settings screen (shown below) reappears. Verify the internet connection. 1. Navigate to the PDA Settings Connections page again (see steps 1 through 4 in Verify the Network Connection ). 2. Tap the Wi-Fi entry. 3. Ensure The Internet is selected in the drop down. 4. Click OK twice to return to the PDA Home screen. After completing these steps, log in to the TyreCheck application and attempt to sync the PDA. If the synchronization still doesn't work, call the TyreCheck support line for more help.
Problem 2. The FlexiGauge isn t working with the PDA Several variables may affect the PDA s connection to the FlexiGauge: PDA and FlexiGauge are too far apart. FlexiGauge has timed out. PDA and FlexiGauge lost connection. PDA and FlexiGauge are no longer paired. Ensure the PDA and FlexiGauge are close enough to communicate. Keep the PDA within 32 feet of the FlexiGauge. Note, 32 feet is the maximum range of these Bluetooth devices. Verify the FlexiGauge is turned on. 1. Power on the FlexiGauge by pressing and holding the centre button for 2 seconds. Ensure the PDA s Bluetooth is turned on. 1. Verify that the Bluetooth icon is present in the top bar. If you see the Bluetooth icon on your PDA, skip to Connect the PDA and the FlexiGauge. Otherwise go to step 2. 2. Tap the Top Bar. 3. Tap the Power & Radio icon.
4. Tap the Bluetooth selection to turn on the PDA s Bluetooth. 5. Click the OK button. Connect the PDA and the FlexiGauge. 1. Log in to the TyreCheck mobile app from the PDA home screen. 2. Power on the FlexiGauge by pressing and holding the centre button for 2 seconds. 3. Locate the Bluetooth icon in the lower left corner of the TyreCheck application. Note: when the Bluetooth icon is disconnected, the icon is red. 4. Tap the Bluetooth icon. 5. Compare your screen to the one below. If your device is not paired, skip to Pairing the PDA to the FlexiGauge. Not Paired
6. Tap the connection button of Device One to connect the two devices. 7. Verify the Bluetooth icon turns blue and the device reads Connected. Paired and connected Check the FlexiGauge is now functioning normally. Tap the red exit button to return Home. Pair the PDA to the FlexiGauge. 1. Log in to the TyreCheck mobile app from the PDA home screen. 2. Tap the Bluetooth icon in the lower left corner of the TyreCheck application. 3. Click the Connection icon for Device One. 4. Power on the FlexiGauge by pressing and holding the centre button for 2 seconds. 5. Press and hold the left and right buttons simultaneously on the FlexiGauge for 3 seconds. The symbol in the upper right corner of the FlexiGauge changes to radio towers. 6. Tap the blue Discovery icon of the PDA to search for nearby Bluetooth-enabled devices.
7. Verify your FlexiGauge displays in the list of discovered devices. (Note: check back of FlexiGauge to confirm serial number.) 8. Tap the FlexiGauge entry to select. 9. Tap the red exit button to return to the previous screen. 10. Verify the Bluetooth icon turns blue and the device reads "Connected". 11. Tap the red exit button to return Home. If the PDA and FlexiGauge still do not communicate after completing these steps, call the TyreCheck support line for more help. Problem 3. The pressure stick doesn t take readings. Reset the pressure stick. 1. Disconnect the mini-usb cable from the FlexiGauge. 2. Hold the pressure-stick valve onto a tyre s valve stem for five seconds (as if taking a tyre s pressure reading). 3. Remove the pressure stick from the valve stem. 4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 twice more for a total of three repetitions. 5. Reinstall the pressure stick s mini-usb connector into the FlexiGauge. 6. Engage the plastic lock by sliding forward. 7. Verify the FlexiGauge displays above the battery icon. 8. Take tyre readings again as normal. If resetting the pressure stick doesn t correct the problem, call the TyreCheck support line for more help.
Problem 4. The FlexiGauge readings are not accurate. Check the accuracy of the FlexiGauge. 1. Retrieve the calibration block from the TyreCheck Mobile kit. 2. Power the FlexiGauge on. 3. The measurement screen is displayed. 4. Hold the device in one hand and the calibration block in the other. 5. Press the FlexiGauge needle against the block at position A. The display should read 0.0mm. 6. Place the FlexiGauge needle into the hole at position B and press flat. The display should read 12.0mm.
7. Repeat for positions C (24.0mm) and D (32.0mm) If any of the displayed readings are incorrect, you need to re-calibrate the FlexiGauge using the instructions below.
Recalibrate the FlexiGauge. 1. Power on the FlexiGauge to access the Measurement screen. 2. Press the up and down buttons to access About menu. 3. Press the right button once to access the Main Menu. 4. Navigate to the Callibr menu using the down button and press the centre button. 5. Navigate to the Cal Needle menu and press the centre button. 6. The screen will read Cal Needle Calibrated. 7. Press the centre button again. 8. Set A appears. 9. Place the needle of the Flexigauge in the hole at position A on the calibration block and press flat. 10. Press the centre button while the needle is in this position. The display changes to Set B. 11. Place the needle of the FlexiGauge in the hole at position B on the calibration block and press flat. 12. Press the centre button while the needle is in this position. The display changes to Set C. 13. Repeat the process (steps 7 & 8) for positions C and D on the calibration block. The screen reads Calibr Successful if the calibration completes successfully. Otherwise the Calibr Failed appears and you need to repeat steps 1 to 13. 14. Use the left button to exit out of the settings menu and check the depth readings using the instructions from Check the accuracy of the Flexigauge.
Problem 5. The user can't log in to the TyreCheck application Verify the username and password are entered correctly. 1. Tap the TyreCheck icon to launch the login screen. 2. Type your user name. If using the autofill feature (selecting from drop down), delete any spaces that may be added. 3. Type your password. 4. Tap the green Unlock button. If no problems are found in the username and password but the application does not log in, call the TyreCheck support line for more help. Problem 6. Problems seeing fleets, locations or vehicles User cannot see a newly allocated fleet or location. 1. Log into the TyreCheck app. 2. Tap the Settings icon. 3. Set the synchronisation to Full. 4. Perform a full sync to the TyreCheck website. 5. Check for the fleet and location. Newly allocated fleets and locations should automatically download to the PDA during any sync type. However, if there is an issue a full sync usually resolves the problem. If a full sync doesn t correct the problem, call TyreCheck support for more help.
User cannot see a nomadic vehicle or download takes longer than 2 minutes. 1. Start the TyreCheck mobile application. 2. Tap the Settings icon. 3. Ensure that Micro Sync is set to Download Only in the Generic tab. 4. Save the settings using the green check, and exit using the red door icon. 5. Log out of the TyreCheck app. 6. Restart the PDA (allowing the PDA to redetect a mobile mast). 7. Log into the TyreCheck app. 8. Check for the nomadic vehicle. Missing vehicles are often not available if the PDA cannot connect to the network correctly. Ensure you start the PDA in a location with known good connectivity. If a problem still exists after following the above steps, call TyreCheck support for more help.
