DESCRIBE THE REQUESTED COURSE/PROGRAM ACTION (additional pages may be attached if necessary): We are modifying a requirement for a content track. Originally, the content track for level Design looked like this: 1) COSC 370 level Design COSC 403 Advanced OOP - course changed in April 2013 to COSC 351 rc COSC 418 Design of Multiplayer Games COSC 469 Game Development Project I COSC 470 Game Development Project II And now we would like it to look like this: COSC 370 level Design COSC 351 Object-Oriented Programming or equivalent programming course* COSC 418 Design of Multiplayer Games COSC 469 Game Development Project I COSC 470 Game Development Project II 2) We are also modifying a requirement for the core. In place of just: COSC 160 Graphics for Game Design We would like to give students the opportunity to take CMAT 212 Computer Graphics: Imaging instead, so it should read: CMAT 212 Computer Graphics: Imaging or COSC 160 Graphics for Game Design** See a.:thchg:\. SET FORTH THE RATIONALE FOR THIS PROPOSAL: *COSC 403 was discontinued by the AIT program and replaced with COSC 351, so we would like our program requirements to reflect that. We would also like to give our students the option of taking a more advanced programming course if it is offered. **We have met with SCD to discuss ways that our programs can avoid duplication. COSC 160 and CMAT 212 cover very similar material, and it is material that is imaging and graphic design-focused, which are strengths of the SCD program. COSC 160 will no longer be regularly offered.
