Note: Cleaning period depends on environment, atmosphere, and operating time, etc. Dust or cigarette tar has adhered to the unit, but not enough to impair airflow. At this time dirt starts to become noticeable in the drain pan and problems in the water drainage system become worrisome because of slime.. From this time, preventive maintenance (cleaning) is required to maintain air conditioning performance and to enable long use of the air conditioner.. Problems such as ejection of water droplets can be prevented before they occur by cleaning away dirt during the initial buildup stage.

Dust or cigarette tar has adhered to the unit, but not enough to impair airflow. At this time dirt starts to become noticeable in the drain pan and problems in the water drainage system become worrisome because of slime.. Dirt is becoming obvious and you have to use a strong chemical cleaning agent..use of a common cleaning agent might hurt the protective surface (hydrophilic coating) on the heat exchanger fins. We recommend using ECO Fin Clean (Air Clean Service cleaning agent), which is gentle on the protective surface.. More than just heat exchanger fin cleaning, disassembly and maintenance of functional parts is also required.. Countermeasures are required to combat the possibility of mold and bacteria. These can be controlled by using a silver ion antimicrobial agent. (Air Clean Service is effective for approximately 2 years.) Dirt or cigarette tar has adhered to the unit as a soft scum. From this stage, if the unit is being used as an air conditioner, water will start leaking and water droplets will start being ejected from the discharge grille. If being used as a heater, the outdoor unit might stop functioning.. Cleaning and maintenance of functional parts (/overhaul of main parts) is required.. At the same time, please consider preventive maintenance for the outdoor unit. A hard layer of dirt has adhered to the surface of the heat exchanger. As shown in the photograph, the gaps between the fins are completely blocked. From this stage, if the unit is being used as an air conditioner, water leakage will occur. If being used as a heater, the outdoor unit will stop functioning. If used in this condition, the drop in airflow will cause air conditioning failure and possibly damage the outdoor unit by causing it to overwork.

3 year Abnormal odor, degraded humidifying efficiency and water leakage caused by dirt, mold, and scaling. Operation failure caused by severed motor coil wire and locking due to abrasion of main bearing. 5 year Temperature detection failure caused by resistance errors and severed cables. Locking caused by abrasion of bearing and breakage of motor coil. 5 year 10 year Pressure detection failure caused by resistance errors and severed cables. Operation failure caused by deterioration of resistors, capacitors, and ICs. 10 year Cracking of the outer periphery caused by deterioration and coil layer shorts. Operation failure caused by deterioration of resistors, capacitors, and ICs. 10 year Coil layer short in the drive member, stuck valve, and gas leakage. Contact adhesion caused by roughness on contacts and operation failure due to severed coil. 10 year Locking caused by abrasion of main bearing and coil layer short in the electrical machinery. Overheating, swelling and bursting caused by deterioration. VRV System employs coolant circulation control with a fixed coolant temperature. This type of control is performed using temperature and pressure sensors. If the sensors malfunction, operation control will become faulty which will lead not only to loss of comfort inside the room being air conditioned, but strain to the main components such as the compressor. Electronic expansion valve Pressure sensor When air conditioning, the coolant inside this pipe is controlled to a fixed temperature. Building Sanitation Management Perform inspection and cleaning of package air conditioners with proper respect to Building Sanitation Management. for Building Sanitation Management s covered for drain pan dirt Drain pan & air filter cleaning and cleaning of humidifier (if it's built) Optional of drain fluid level switch of electrical components (such as thermistor) of drain pump Drain pan Before cleaning drain pan Humidifier Drain socket cap After cleaning drain pan Humidifying element As options, we will also perform inspections of drain fluid level switch, electrical components such as the thermistor, and the drain pump. Limited period We do inspections also when cleaning. It is the air conditioner professionals who make our cleaning service possible. For details, please refer to the pamphlet about this feature. Air Clean Service Restore the cleanliness and comfort it s supposed to be. We offer parts, cleaning and overhaul services in accordance with the symptom at hand. One by one, your unit will take on a new life. Before cleaning After cleaning For example, the heat exchanger Heat exchanger Heat exchanger Services offered Scope of cleaning. Panel. Air filter. Heat exchanger. Fan rotor. Drain pan Use of special cleaning agent recommended by DAIKIN. By using Daikin s recommended cleaning agent, the hydrophilic coating on the heat exchanger fins won t be hurt. Replacement of sensor and drain pump The temperature sensor, which easily ages, and the drain pump (in-use machines only) are replaced. Drain pan Drain pan Anti-microbial treatment of air conditioner drain pan Page 14 By placing a silver ion anti-microbial agent in the drain pan, the occurrence of slime, mold and bacteria, which are the cause of odors and blockage, can be controlled. This treatment is effective for approximately two years. Air conditioners that are used continuously throughout the season are renewed. The full cooling and heating potential is realized while power wastage is kept under control. Furthermore, in addition to the elimination of smells and mold, breakdowns are prevented before they have a chance to occur.

Stop drain pan slime buildup with silver ion anti-microbial! (for shop and office use) The drain pan provides a stable, warm environment for contaminates to accumulate with ease. These contaminates can accumulate into a slime jelly, clogging the drain discharge pump. Silver ion anti-microbial agent The agent features pulverized anti-microbial silver and glass incorporated into the cartridge. This additive melts with time, slower than typical market chemicals. (The lifespan of a silver ion cartridge depends on the usage environment, but should be changed once every two to three years.) The effectiveness of silver ion anti-microbial agent: The effectiveness of silver ion anti-microbial agent has been tested and confirmed against slime cultivated in a 20 C environment, the same as that of the inner drain pan of an air conditioner. Without silver ion anti-microbial agent After 2 days After 9 days After 21 days Increase in slime volume is observed. With silver ion anti-microbial agent After 2 days After 21 days Silver ion anti-microbial agent No change in slime volume is observed. For the effectiveness of silver ion anti-microbial agent, we recommend you also clean the inner drain pain. Caution! This product may not suitable or necessary for some certain equipment, depending on model and year of make. For detailed information, please consult your nearest Daikin Service Station.
