AIMING HIGH I would like to offer you a warm welcome to our successful Sixth Form Centre at St. Anne s for Girls, of which we are very proud. We deliver academic success in a friendly, family, caring environment where teaching standards and pastoral care are exceptional. Our ethos is fundamental to all aspects of our school life with the universal aim of our school motto, to Act justly, Love Tenderly, Walk Humbly with your God. in the delivery of enrichment activities for other students within the school and are excellent role models to younger students. With the help of our dedicated staff, students develop the skills that will prove invaluable at university and in the workplace: confidence, ambition and perseverance. As a result, the majority go on to study at the University of their choice, including Oxbridge, or progress on to their desired employment. 01 TEACHERS KNOW THEIR STUDENTS WELL, AND THEY TAKE CARE TO CHECK THEIR UNDERSTANDING AND PROGRESS DURING Lessons. We attract girls not only from the local area but also from overseas. We educate a small number of boys who follow courses arranged through the collegiate system. The new Sixth Form Centre offers us the exciting opportunity to increase the number of external places available for female students to join our Sixth Form; and the new courses we have introduced, broaden the range of subjects now offered. Our Sixth Form students are studious and adopt a mature and independent approach to their studies, aiming for the highest levels of achievement. They play a significant role As well as the academic support, our students speak most highly of the unique support given by our staff in preparing them for their university interviews, applications and post-19 education. Our aim is that when your daughter finishes her studies as one of our students, she will have developed into a confident, young woman with high moral values, an excellent education and fully equipped to make a valuable contribution to society. Jillian Turner Assistant Head Teacher, 16 19 ofsted

ACHIEVING SUCCESS In offering a broad range of courses at AS, A2 and BTEC Level 3, our Post-16 Curriculum is designed to excite and challenge students. In addition to the traditional academic subjects, we offer a choice of vocational courses designed to develop the necessary skills for specific career pathways, and the opportunity to develop transferable skills, which will benefit students later in higher education and the world of work. We encourage our young people to take positions of responsibility within the school. We value most highly the contribution our sixth form students make through their roles as Head Girl, members of the Head Girl Team, Fair Trade Committee members, Senior Prefects and Eucharistic Ministers. There are many opportunities for extra-curricular activities including drama, music, sport and Christian fellowship, and many sixth formers enjoy the annual ski trip. Most students take part in community work including YAVE (Youth Action Volunteering in Enfield), Age UK s Trans- IT scheme which develops the IT skills of senior citizens, academic mentoring of younger pupils and peers, and charity fundraising. 03

05 MOVING ON With our ethos underpinning life at St. Anne s, care for students progress and wellbeing continues into the sixth form. Our young people receive effective pastoral support from the non-teaching Key Stage 5 Achievement Leader, their Form Tutors, School Chaplain, Learning Mentor and Counsellor. All students complete the Life Skills course, which provides advice on time management for successful study, revision skills, preparation for higher and further education courses, the university application process, interview techniques and employment opportunities. Guest speakers from universities, colleges and private enterprises inspire our students to achieve, and we actively encourage our girls to attend open days and taster courses. All year 12 students participate in a mock job application and interview process with a business professional, receiving feedback on their performance. STUDENTS ARE VERY WELL PREPARED FOR THEIR FUTURE ECONOMIC WELL-BEING AND RECEIVE THOROUGH, IMPARTIAL AND UP-TO-DATE ADVICE ABOUT FUTURE OPTIONS. OFSTED

A BRIGHT FUTURE Our popular sixth form provides the opportunity to extend their academic knowledge and develop skills that will be invaluable at university and in the workplace. Students are encouraged to join our flourishing sixth form, where they rise enthusiastically to the challenge of being good role models for the rest of the school. Through a broad choice of academic and vocational courses at AS, A2 and BTEC Level 3, we offer post-16 education that is suited to a very wide range of abilities and aptitudes. Sixth formers enjoy many exciting, extra-curricular activities that develop their teamwork skills and often establish lifelong friendships. Students continue to follow a course of religious education and can take advantage of a range of opportunities for Christian fellowship. We ensure that girls continue to benefit from effective pastoral support and our sixth form staff work hard to give them practical and personalised advice to help them shape their future. 07
