BDO Zambia - tax services 3 ABOUT US BDO Zambia is a firm of public accountants, registered with the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants, providing audit, accounting, taxation, management and consulting services to some five hundred clients of varying sizes and needs. BDO Zambia is part of the BDO International network. Your BDO Team - our partners, directors and staff William Saunders is Senior Partner and a Fellow of the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. He has been active in the Zambian sector for more than 30 years and has specific expertise in taxation, commerce, tourism, construction and agriculture. Doug Ironside Is Managing Partner and also an Audit Partner with the firm. He is a member of the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Scotland. He has worked in Zambia since 1986 and was Financial Director of Lonrho Africa Ltd s motor vehicle dealership interests in Zambia before joining BDO Zambia in 2001. He has been with the firm since it was formed in 1997. Deborah Nonde, Tax Director Compliance, is a qualified ACCA graduate with extensive local and foreign tax experience in corporate and individual taxation. She sits on the Tax Committee of the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants. Deborah brings the added dimension of extensive accounting knowledge of the business environment in Zambia to providing practical business tax compliance solutions.
BDO Zambia - tax services 11 Katrina Mabika, Tax Director Advisory Services, is an experienced tax professional and an expert in both Zambian and international tax legislation. She is a member of the UK Chartered Institute of Taxation. She was previously Senior Tax Manager at Deloitte in Lusaka before establishing her own tax consulting business and later joining BDO Zambia. Godsave Nhekede, Audit Partner - A Fellow of ACCA and ZICA with over 13 years audit and financial management experience in Zambia and Zimbabwe. Audit experience ranges from energy and natural resource organizations, quasi government institutions, NGOs to public listed companies. A former President of ACCA Zimbabwe, Godsave also served for 3 years as a committee member for the same institution. Marsha Thurairatnam, Manager Business Services, specialises in management accounting and bookkeeping services. She holds a BSc in Accountancy and is a Fellow of the Association of Certified and Chartered Accountants and the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants. Marsha gained fourteen years of accounting experience in the UK and Zambia, (including valuable corporate sector experience as a Chief Accountant), before she joined BDO Spencer Steward Zambia in 2005. In Zambia she has also worked in the corporate sector as Chief Accountant and brings that private sector experience to her professional role at BDO. Jonathan Ambali joined BDO in 2002. He is Manager for Corporate Advisory and Restructuring and specialises in Corporate Secretarial Services. He holds an MBA and a BA and is licensed by the Zambian Securities and Exchange Commission as a stockbroker and investment advisor. Fanwell Luswili joined BDO Zambia in April 2006 as Manager of the Livingstone office. He moved from BDO Botswana where he worked for eight years. He was the Chief Operating Officer at the time of leaving. Fanwell holds an MBA (Finance) from De Montfort University in Leicester (November 2005). He started his career with Deloitte & Touche in 1976 after graduating with a BSc from the University of Zambia. He has over 25 years experience in accountancy, administration and is a Human Resources Management specialist. He is a member of the Institute of Directors of Zambia and is also involved in community and charity work through the Rotary Club of Livingstone. BDO Staff BDO Zambia employs around 100 staff: six partners & directors and around hundred professional and administrative staff. Staff are encouraged and supported in their studies, with a view to achieving professional qualifications, while being exposed to a broad spectrum of practical experience. In 2006 we merged our tax practice with Pembroke Tax Services to form BDO Tax Services Ltd and in November 2009 we acquired the DCDM client portfolio in Zambia.
