2016-2017 Tryouts Fort Zumwalt South High School Cheerleading The Fort Zumwalt South Cheerleaders are a select group of deserving students who promote school spirit by cheering at athletic events during the fall and winter sports seasons. Cheerleading coaches expect and require respect, dedication, honesty, integrity, and representation of the Fort Zumwalt School District in the highest manner. *Attached you will find several items including a participant intention form, parental permission slip, summer camp form, participation guidelines, financial obligations estimate, and candidate evaluation form. Any individual trying out must have an updated physical form turned in as well. You can find a blank form on the FZS athletics website. Along the side of the page you will see a tab titled Documents, which is where the blank form will be. These documents must be turned in on the first day of tryout clinics in order to participate and be eligible for the tryout process. For the judging portion of the tryout, participants are required to wear a white t- shirt and black shorts (please no Cheerleading references on clothing). Jewelry is not allowed to be worn, and hair must be up and out of the face. All participants will tryout in groups determined by the coaching staff during clinic practices. Freshmen will only tryout with other Freshmen, Sophomores with other Sophomores, and Juniors and Seniors may or may not be grouped together. Please be aware that if you plan to play a Fall sport, you should indicate that you are trying out for Winter cheerleading. The same rule applies if you plan to play a Winter sport, you should indicate that you are trying out for Fall cheerleading. If you earn a position on a squad and fail to fulfill your obligation by resigning your placement or quitting during any part of the season, you will be ineligible to tryout again for an entire year (365 days), per district policy. Thank you for your interest in Fort Zumwalt South Cheerleading, we look forward to a fun and rewarding year!
