3 MBA CHEERLEADER TRYOUTS GENERAL INFORMATION I. TRYOUTS: A. Practice Sessions: Practice sessions will be held Tuesday, May 5 Thursday, May 7 for preparation for the tryout. Cheers, sidelines, jumps, and dance routine will be taught to those trying out. Tryout material will be taught by the coach and senior cheerleaders. Attendance at the practice sessions is not mandatory, but it is highly recommended. If you are not in attendance, you must give a coach a written explanation of why you are unable to attend the practice. B. Squad Selection: Selection for the squads will be held on Friday, May 8 beginning at 4:00 p.m. Among the panel of judges will be former cheerleaders, qualified instructors, and MBA student officers. This is a closed tryout (i.e., no spectators will be allowed at the tryouts). C. Criteria: Cheerleaders will be evaluated on projection, fundamental skills, and knowledge of tryout material. Although gymnastics/tumbling skills are not required for tryouts, this is a category that will be evaluated. D. Practice Attire: Attire for practice is shorts or skorts, t- shirts, socks and proper shoes. Please do NOT wear any jewelry (rings, necklaces, bracelets, etc). E.
