TERMS & CONDITIONS HSBC 888 USAGE PROMOTION 1. HSBC Bank Malaysia Berhad (Company No. 127776-V) will be referred to as HSBC Bank and HSBC Amanah Malaysia Berhad (Company No. 807705-X) will be referred to as HSBC Amanah. THE PROMOTION PERIOD 2. The HSBC 888 Usage Promotion ( Promotion ) shall run from 5 January 2015 to 28 February 2015, both dates inclusive ( Promotion Period ). ELIGIBILITY 3. This Promotion is open to the following:- a) Existing-to-HSBC Credit Card Primary or Supplementary Cardholder ( Existing Cardholder ) who currently holds any one or more of the following existing HSBC Bank/ HSBC Amanah Credit Card/-i respectively; i) HSBC Bank Credit Cards: HSBC Premier World MasterCard Credit Card, HSBC Advance Visa Platinum Credit Card, HSBC Visa Signature Credit Card, HSBC Visa Platinum Credit Card, HSBC Visa Reward Credit Card and HSBC Gold MasterCard Credit Card issued by HSBC Bank; and ii) HSBC Amanah Credit Card-i(s): HSBC Amanah Premier World MasterCard Credit Card-i, HSBC Amanah Advance Visa Platinum Credit Card-i, HSBC Amanah MPower Visa Platinum Credit Card-i and HSBC Amanah MPower Visa Credit Card-i issued by HSBC Amanah b) New-to-HSBC Credit Card Primary or Supplementary Cardholder ( New Cardholder ) who applies for any one or more of the following HSBC Bank/HSBC Amanah Credit Card/-i from 5 Jan 2015 to 28 February 2015: i) HSBC Bank Credit Card(s): HSBC Premier World MasterCard Credit Card, HSBC Visa Signature Credit Cards, HSBC Advance Visa Platinum Credit Card, HSBC Visa Platinum Credit Card, HSBC Visa Reward Credit Card issued by HSBC Bank; and ii) HSBC Amanah Credit Card-i(s): HSBC Amanah Premier World MasterCard Credit Card-i, HSBC Amanah Advance Visa Platinum Credit Card-i, HSBC Amanah MPower Visa Platinum Credit Card-i, HSBC Amanah MPower Visa Credit Card-i issued by HSBC Amanah; (hereinafter referred to as the Participating HSBC Bank/HSBC Amanah Credit Cards/-i ) EXCEPT for the following categories of persons: i. Holder(s) of HSBC Bank/HSBC Amanah Credit Cards/-i that are not issued in Malaysia; and/or ii. Holder(s) of invalid or cancelled HSBC Bank/HSBC Amanah Credit Cards/-i and/or whose accounts are delinquent within HSBC Bank and HSBC Amanah s definition at any time during the Promotion Period; and/or iii. Holder(s) of company and/or corporate HSBC Bank/ HSBC Amanah Credit Cards/-i, (hereinafter collectively referred to as the Eligible Cardholder ). REGISTRATION CRITERIA 4. To participate in this Promotion, the Eligible Cardholder must register one of his/her Participating HSBC Bank/HSBC Amanah Credit Card/-i number(s) via SMS or online at www.hsbc.com.my/888 or www.hsbcamanah.com.my/888 during the Promotion Period. All his/her other Participating HSBC Bank/HSBC Amanah Credit Cards/-i including supplementary card(s) shall automatically be tracked for the purpose of tabulating the Eligible Spend (defined at clause 8 below). The SMS Registration process is as follows: a. SMS: B1<space>your 16-digit Participating HSBC Bank/HSBC Amanah Credit Card/-i number to 66300; or b. Eligible Cardholders who receive an SMS invitation from HSBC Bank/HSBC Amanah to participate in this Promotion must follow the instructions to register as stated therein; or c. Follow the instructions to register in the respective marketing communication materials. Standard telecommunication charges will apply for each SMS sent.

5. Registration can be performed by either the primary or supplementary Eligible Cardholder. 6. Upon successful registration, the Eligible Cardholder will receive a confirmation via SMS. Such confirmation will be sent to the mobile number used for the registration. 7. In the event the SMS is incomplete / invalid, an SMS will be sent to the Eligible Cardholder at no cost notifying them to reregister via SMS. However, the Eligible Cardholder must ensure that they have keyed in the correct Participating HSBC Bank/HSBC Amanah Credit Card/-i number in the SMS. ELIGIBLE SPEND 8. Eligible Spend for the Promotion are those that: a) Are charged to any of the Eligible Cardholder s Participating HSBC Bank/HSBC Amanah Credit Cards/-i including the supplementary credit card(s) as per Clause 3 above within the Promotion Period; b) Include 0% installment plans, local and overseas retail transactions for Shopping, Entertainment, Petrol, Food and Beverage, Departmental, Hotel, Travel and/or Groceries spend; and c) Exclude internet transactions, cash advances, standing instructions/auto-billing, finance charges/ management fee, credit card annual fee, government service tax and spend that are made at merchants from the following Merchant Category Codes: Charity Automobile Direct Marketing Mail Order Telephone Order Education Membership Utility Grooming Health Home (hereinafter referred to as MCC s ). The list of excluded MCC s stipulated above is non-exhaustive. 9. The tracking of the Eligible Spend is based on transaction dates (Malaysian Time). PROMOTION 10. The Promotion comprises the following offers as in Table 1 below: Table (1): Offers for Primary & Supplementary Eligible Spend Criteria Spend Period Offers Eligible Spend must be of a minimum of RM50 or equivalent per swipe, made from 10am to 10pm (Malaysia Time) 5 January 2015 to 28 February 2015 (both dates inclusive) for all Eligible Cardholders i) 5 January 2015 to 28 February 2015 (both dates inclusive) for Existing Cardholder; and ii) 5 January 2015 to 31 March 2015 (both dates inclusive) for New Cardholder. Cash Back: Stand to receive RM1 - RM9 Cash Back based on the last digit of approval code on the Eligible Cardholder s credit card transaction slip as defined in Clause 12 ( Cash Back ) Travel Voucher: Stand to win a RM1,000 Travel Voucher based on the last three (3) digit of approval code on the Eligible Cardholder s credit card transaction slip ( Prize )

CASH BACK TERMS & CONDITIONS 11. Once the Eligible Cardholder satisfies the Eligible Spend Criteria in Clause 8 above during the Spend Period for this Promotion, the Eligible Cardholder stands to receive Cash Back as per Clause 12 illustrated in Table 3 below subject to availability of the Cash Back allocated for that Participating Day as per Table 2 below. The following is the selection process adopted to determine the Eligible Cardholder who stands to receive the Cash Back : a) The total Daily Cash Back Allocation is divided by 5 ( Each Daily Allocation ); then b) The total number of Eligible Spend transactions on each Participating Day is divided by Each Daily Allocation and rounded up to the closest number ( N ). Eligible Cardholders who make the N th (and its multiples) transactions for that day will stand to receive Cash Back as per the last digit of the approval code number (from number 0 - number 9) printed on their respective credit card transaction slips as per Table 3. Eg. On 2 February 2015, Each Daily Cash Back Allocation is 6610 5 = 1322. If there are 10,000 transactions on that day, the N th Transaction for that day is: 10,000 Each Daily Cash Back Allocation = 10000 1322 = 7.564 8 (rounded to the closest number) Pursuant to the above example, Eligible Cardholders who make every 8 th transaction out of the 10,000 transactions for that day will stand to receive the Cash Back. The amount that these Eligible Cardholders will stand to receive will be is as per the last digit of the approval code number printed on their credit card transaction slip.

Therefore, if the last digit of the approval code number is 1, the Eligible Cardholder stands to receive RM1. There is a maximum of RM549,400 Cash Back to be given out throughout the Promotion Period, capped at a maximum of RM6,610 for each participating Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and a maximum of RM19,000 for each participating Saturday and Sunday for this Promotion. HSBC Bank is the sole provider for all the Cash Back in this Promotion. 14. The Cash Back allocated for the respective Participating Day that is not utilised (if any) will be brought forward to the next Participating Day, thereby increasing the Total Daily Cash Back Allocation for the next Participating Day accordingly. 15. Only the primary Eligible Cardholder will receive the Cash Back. 16. The maximum Cash Back to be given out to a primary Eligible Cardholder is RM150 throughout the Promotion Period, subject to availability. 17. Split and/or repetitive retail transactions of three (3) times or more from the same merchant(s) in a day are disallowed and shall be disqualified. 18. At the end of the Promotion Period, the Eligible Cardholder will receive an SMS notifying them on the amount of Cash Back they stand to receive, subject to the Eligible Cardholder correctly answering a question sent to the Eligible Cardholder via SMS. The Eligible Cardholder is to send the answer/reply via SMS to 66300 within 7 days from the date of the SMS. 19. Only Eligible Cardholders who answer the question correctly via SMS will receive the Cash Back. All questions will have a Yes or No answer. For Eligible Cardholders who answer correctly, an SMS will be sent to them confirming they have answered correctly and informing them of the actual Cash Back amount that will be credited to their credit card account. 20. Eligible Cardholders who do not answer the question correctly, an SMS will be sent to them informing them that they have incorrectly answered the question. These Eligible Cardholders will not be entitled to receive Cash Back. Eligible Cardholders who do not reply to answer the question in the SMS within 7 days from the date of the SMS are also not entitled to receive the Cash Back. 21. The Cash Back will be credited into the primary Eligible Cardholder s highest type of Participating HSBC Bank/HSBC Amanah Credit Card/-i account within four (4) to eight (8) weeks from the end of the Promotion Period. (For avoidance of doubt, the Participating HSBC Bank/HSBC Amanah Credit Cards/-i are ranked in the following order: HSBC Premier World MasterCard Credit Card being the highest card type, followed by HSBC Amanah Premier World MasterCard Credit Card-i, HSBC Visa Signature Credit Card, HSBC Advance Visa Platinum Credit Card, HSBC Amanah Advance Visa Platinum Credit Card-i, HSBC Visa Platinum Credit Card, HSBC Amanah MPower Visa Platinum Credit Card-i, HSBC Visa Reward Credit Card/HSBC Gold MasterCard Credit Card, HSBC Amanah MPower Visa Credit Card-i). The Eligible Cardholder will receive notification of the Cash Back, if any, through the respective Participating HSBC Bank/HSBC Amanah Credit Card/-i s monthly credit card statement that follows after the date of the crediting of the Cash Back. TRAVEL VOUCHER ( PRIZE ) TERMS & CONDITIONS 22. Upon satisfying the Registration and the Eligible Spend Criteria within the respective Spend Period for Existing Cardholder and New Cardholder as stated in Clauses 4, 8 & 10 above for this Promotion, the Eligible Cardholder will need to abide to the following to stand to receive RM1,000 Travel Voucher for this Promotion:

a) The last 3 digits of the approval code on the Eligible Cardholder s credit card transaction slip will need to match the 3- digit number in Table 4. If it matches, then that transaction will be considered a Matching Entry. Table (4): Last three (3) digit of approval code number printed on credit card transaction slip 888 b) There will be 350 units of RM1,000 Travel Voucher to be given out for this Promotion. HSBC Bank is the sole provider for the Prizes in this promotion. 23. The following is the selection process adopted to determine the potential winners ( Potential Winners ) a) Each Matching Entry will be assigned a random serial number. b) The total number of matching entries at the end of the Spend Period will be divided by 350 (i.e. the total number of Travel Vouchers to be given out for this Promotion) to determine the Potential Winner. All the serial numbers selected after division would be the closest lower whole number. For example, if there are a total of 1,800 serial numbers at the end of the Spend Period, the total serial number will be divided by 350 and rounded to the closest lower whole number i.e. 5. The Eligible Cardholder holding serial numbers 5, 10, 15, 20 and so on, being multiples of 5 will be the Potential Winners. HSBC Bank/HSBC Amanah s decision on the selection of the Potential Winner will be final. c) Potential Winners will be contacted within 6-8 weeks after the Spend Period (by HSBC Bank/HSBC Amanah or its appointed representatives via phone). The telephone call to the Potential Winner will be performed according to the telephone numbers maintained in HSBC Bank/HSBC Amanah s record of the participating HSBC Bank/HSBC Amanah credit cards/-i. The Potential Winner is required to answer two (2) questions. If the first attempt to call the Potential Winners fails, i.e. no reply, telephone number not in service, no connection, etc., another 2 attempts will be made within the next 2 hours of the first phone call to the Potential Winners. Where such further attempts are unsuccessful or the Potential Winners withdraw from the Promotion on being contacted, the Potential Winners will be disqualified from the Promotion. HSBC Bank/HSBC Amanah reserves the right to select the Eligible Cardholder with the subsequent serial number e.g. where the Potential Winner with serial number is 10 could not be contacted or withdraw from the Promotion, the Eligible Cardholder with the serial number 11 will be contacted as the Potential Winner and the same process will be repeated until all Potential Winners are determined. Only primary Eligible Cardholders will be contacted. d) Potential Winners must answer the two (2) questions correctly to be a winner and receive the Prize ( Winner ). Any Potential Winner who fails to answer the two (2) questions correctly will not receive the Prize. The Eligible Cardholder bearing the subsequent serial number will be short-listed and the sequence in Clause 23 (c) will re-commence. The shortlisted Potential Winner who answers the questions correctly will be the Winner. e) The routine under Clauses 23 (c) and 23 (d) will be repeated until the Winners are determined. 24. The Winners will receive a notification letter upon answering the two (2) questions correctly and will need to follow the instructions in the letter to redeem the Prize directly from Sunway Travel Sdn Bhd. The letter will be delivered to the Winner s mailing address maintained in HSBC Bank/HSBC Amanah s record. The letter will not be sent to any correspondence address overseas. 25. The Winner is required to redeem the Prize from Sunway Travel Sdn Bhd as per redemption period stated in the letter and if the Winner does not do so within the redemption period specified in the letter, the Prize will be forfeited. 26. There is no limit to the number of Prize that each Eligible Cardholder can win for this Promotion 27. HSBC Bank/ HSBC Amanah are not in any way endorsing, sanctioning, approving or supporting the use of Sunway Travel Sdn Bhd. 28. To the fullest extent permitted by law, HSBC Bank/ HSBC Amanah expressly excludes and disclaims any representations, warranties, or endorsements, express or implied, written or oral, including but not limited to, any warranty of quality, merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose in respect of the Prizes. 29. Further terms and conditions applicable to the Prize:- a) The Prize is provided on an As Is basis; b) HSBC Bank/HSBC Amanah reserves the right to substitute the Prize with any other Prize or item of similar value at any time with 3 days prior notice;

c) HSBC Bank/HSBC Amanah will not be held liable for any mishaps, injuries or accidents that may occur in the course of redemption or usage of the Prize received under this Promotion; d) Any loss or damage to the Prize is passed on to the Winner upon receipt of the Prize by the Winner; e) The Prize does not include any accessories or items that are shown in the leaflet or website, as they are for illustration purposes only; f) HSBC Bank/HSBC Amanah reserves the right, as its absolute discretion, in the allocation of the Prize to the Winners; HSBC Bank/HSBC Amanah will not entertain any request from any Winners or any other person to exchange the Prizes into cash or credit or any other form of gifts/prizes. g) The Prize may be subject to further terms and conditions as stipulated by Sunway Travel Sdn Bhd. Redemption of the Prize by the Winner may be subject to further terms and conditions by the airline selected by the Winner. h) The Prize is redeemable for air ticket(s), airport tax(es), fuel surcharge(s), service fee(s), hotel or on-ground arrangement(s) up to the value of RM1,000. If the cost of the travel arrangement exceeds the value of the Prize, the excess amount is to be paid by the Winner. If the cost of the travel arrangement is less than the value of the Prize, the balance value of the Prize is not refundable or transferable. i) Booking confirmation of air ticket(s), hotel(s) or on-ground arrangement(s) is subject to availability and peak period surcharges. j) Reservation is to be made at least 45 days before an intended travel date. k) The Winner is required to travel within the travelling period from 15 July 2015 to 31 December 2015, both dates inclusive. GENERAL TERMS & CONDITIONS 30. At the time of crediting the primary Eligible Cardholder s Participating HSBC Bank/HSBC Amanah Credit Card/-i account with the Cash Back, all the Participating HSBC Bank/HSBC Amanah Credit Card/-i account(s) of the Eligible Cardholders MUST NOT be delinquent, and/or invalid or cancelled within HSBC Bank /HSBC Amanah s definition, otherwise they will be disqualified from participating or receiving the Cash Back from this Promotion. 31. HSBC Bank/HSBC Amanah will not entertain any request from any Eligible Cardholders or any other person to credit the Cash Back to the Eligible Cardholder s other or any third party s HSBC Bank/HSBC Amanah Credit Card/-i account. 32. HSBC Bank/HSBC Amanah shall not be held liable for any mishaps, injuries or accidents that may occur in the usage of the Cash Back received in this Promotion. 33. HSBC Bank/HSBC Amanah reserves the right to substitute the Cash Back with any item of similar value at any time with 3 days prior notice. 34. HSBC Bank/HSBC Amanah reserves the right to publish or display the name, picture and city of residence of the Eligible Cardholders who have been selected to receive the Cash Back for this Promotion for advertising and publicity purposes. By participating in this Promotion, the selected Eligible Cardholders hereby consent to and agree that HSBC Bank/HSBC Amanah shall be at liberty to publish their names, pictures and city of residence without compensation for advertising and publicity purposes. 35. HSBC Bank/HSBC Amanah reserves the right at its absolute discretion to vary, delete or add to any of these Terms & Conditions with 3 days prior notice. These Terms and Conditions, as amended from time to time shall prevail over any provisions or representations contained in any other promotional materials advertising this Promotion. 36. HSBC Bank/HSBC Amanah may use any of the following modes to communicate notices in relation to this Promotion to the Eligible Cardholder: I. individual notice to the Eligible Cardholder (whether by written notice or via electronic means) sent to the Eligible Cardholder s latest address/email address as maintained in the HSBC Bank / HSBC Amanah s records; II. press advertisements; III. notice(s) in the Eligible Cardholder s credit card statement(s); IV. display(s) at its business premises; V. notice(s) on HSBC Bank / HSBC Amanah s internet website(s); where such notices shall be deemed to be effective on and from the 4th day after its delivery/publication/display as per the manner described herein. Save and except for any notices sent via ordinary mail which will be deemed delivered on the 3rd day after posting, notices sent via other modes as described herein are deemed delivered immediately after posting/publication/display.

37. These Terms and Conditions are in addition to the respective Universal Terms and Conditions ( UTCs ) for HSBC Bank and HSBC Amanah of which the respective Cardholder Agreements are a part of and which regulate the provision of credit card/-i facilities by HSBC Bank and HSBC Amanah. The UTCs are available at www.hsbc.com.my and www.hsbcamanah.com.my. In the event of inconsistency between these Terms and Conditions and the UTCs, these Terms and Conditions shall prevail in so far as they apply to this Promotion. 38. HSBC Bank/HSBC Amanah shall not be liable for any default due to any act of God, war, riot, strike, terrorism, epidemic, lockout, industrial action, fire, flood, drought, storm or any event beyond the reasonable control of HSBC. 39. HSBC Bank/HSBC Amanah reserves the right to cancel, terminate or suspend this Promotion with 3 days prior notice. For the avoidance of doubt, cancellation, termination or suspension by HSBC Bank / HSBC Amanah of this Promotion shall not entitle the Eligible Cardholder to any claim or compensation against HSBC Bank / HSBC Amanah for any and all losses or damages suffered or incurred by the Eligible Cardholder as a direct or indirect result of the act of cancellation, termination or suspension. 40. HSBC Bank and HSBC Amanah shall only be liable for any loss or damage suffered or incurred as a direct result of HSBC Bank s or HSBC Amanah s gross negligence and shall not be liable for any other loss or damage of any kind such as loss of income, profit, goodwill or indirect, incidental, exemplary, punitive, consequential or special loss or damage howsoever arising, whether or not HSBC Bank or HSBC Amanah have been advised of the possibility of such loss or damage. 41. The Eligible Cardholder shall be personally responsible for all taxes, rates, government fees or any other charges that may be levied against them under applicable laws, if any, in relation to this Promotion. 42. HSBC Bank s/hsbc Amanah s decision(s) on all matters relating to this Promotion including but not limited to the eligibility to participate, the selection of the recipient of the Cash Back for this Promotion, and in the case of any dispute, shall be final and binding on all Eligible Cardholders who participate in this Promotion and no correspondence will be entertained. 43. By participating in this Promotion, the Eligible Cardholder agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and the decisions of HSBC Bank/HSBC Amanah.
