1 Last updated on 30 September 2014 HONG LEONG ISLAMIC BANK DEPOSIT PROMOTION JUNIOR- I SAVERS TREAT PROMOTION Terms & Conditions ( T&Cs ) PROMOTION PERIOD 1. The Hong Leong Islamic Bank s ( HLISB) ( the Bank ) Junior- i Savers Treat ( Promotion ) commences on 1 July 2014 and ends on 30 June 2015, both dates inclusive ( Promotion Period ), unless notified otherwise. ELIGIBILITY 2. The Promotion is open to all the Bank s Individual customers who are Accountholders of Hong Leong Junior Savings Account- i ( JSA- i ). ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE REWARD 3. The Academic Excellence Reward for the child is valid for any new JSA- i account opened during the Promotion Period and will be having the exams as stated below: i. The Academic Excellence Reward shall be granted to government and private school students who achieve straight A s for their UPSR, PT3 and SPM examinations ( Public Examinations ) ii. The Academic Excellence Reward cash incentives are as follows: UPSR PT3 SPM RM100 RM250 RM350 iii. The Academic Excellence Reward incentive must be submitted to the Bank via an application at the branch within fourteen (14) days from the date of announcement of the results of the Public Examination undertaken by the child. Notwithstanding the 14- days timeline, the reward shall be credited to the applicant s JSA- i on a first- come- first- serve basis; subject to a maximum limit of RM100,000 per annum. iv. Results obtained for the respective Public Examinations undertaken by the child must be straight A s in all subjects taken in a single certificate regardless of the number of subjects taken. 1

2 A certified true copy of the result slip by the respective school s official must be submitted together with this application. v. In order to qualify for the Academic Excellence Reward, an average minimum balance of RM1, must have been maintained in the JSA- i at least one (1) month prior to the date of application. vi. Only one (1) reward will be granted per child per Public Examination regardless of the number of JSA- i held at various HLISB and HLB branches. MULTIPLY YOUR SAVINGS CONTEST 4. There are three (3) Grand Prizes and ten (10) Consolation Prizes Multiply Your Savings contest to be won throughout the Promotion Period ( Prize ): Category Prize No. of Winner(s) Grand Prize 1 RM5,000 1 Grand Prize 2 RM3,000 1 Grand Prize 3 RM2,000 1 Consolation Prizes RM1, CONTEST MECHANICS 5. The Multiply Your Savings contest is only opened to Accountholders of JSA- i account who are Malaysian only, aged 18 and above i.e. the parent s or legal guardian s name as appeared in the JSA- i account passbook. 6. Accountholders who are employees of HLISB/Hong Leong Bank ( HLB ) whether on permanent or on contractual basis, employees of any of HLISB s/hlb s representatives or agents (including external auditors, vendors, suppliers, advertising and promotion agents) and their respective immediate family members (e.g. spouse, children, parent, brother or sister) shall NOT be eligible to participate in the Multiply Your Savings Contest. 7. Accountholders are entitled to earn contest entries based on the following criteria performed during the Promotion Period: Criteria Redemption of one (1) unit promotional item Type A with a minimum deposit or top- up of RM2,500 to the JSA- i account to be earmarked for three (3) months consecutively. Redemption of one (1) unit promotional item Type B with a minimum deposit or top- up of RM5,000 to the JSA- i account to be earmarked for three (3) months consecutively. Promotional items for Q3 and Q4 will be specified prior to the Thematic Promotion Period by way of posting on the Bank s websites at ii. A total minimum of five hundred (500) units of promotional items Type A and Type B respectively are allocated for each quarter of Thematic Treat. iii. Promotional items are valid on a first- come- first- serve basis and subject to availability of stock. iv. Promotional items featured in all printed materials and/or website is shown for illustration purposes only. The Bank reserves the right to substitute the promotional items with other product, model, brand, colour or services of similar value with twenty- one (21) calendar days prior notice. v. Any promotional/marketing material, accessories or equipment featured together with the promotional items are for decorative purposes only and shall not form part of the promotional items. vi. Promotional items are non- transferable to any 3 rd party and non- exchangeable for upfront cash, credit or in kind. vii. HLISB gives no representation or warranty with respect to the quality or suitability of the Gifts. 9. The redemption of the promotional item is applicable for new funds only. New funds is defined as: (a) Cash, interbank GIRO, new funds received via telegraphic transfer from other banks, local cheque or banker s cheque issued by other banks; (b) Proceeds arising from the redemption of equity, unit trust funds, bonds/sukuk and/or Hong Leong Invest Safe that are re- deposited into any CASA/CASA- i 10. The following shall not be considered as New funds : (a) Intra bank transfer of funds, i.e. transfer of funds from another HLB/HLISB account (whether Current/ Current/i, Savings/i, Fixed Deposit Accounts, General Investment Account or Term Deposit- i) and/or; (b) Inter- branch transfer within HLB and HLISB including third (3 rd ) party account transfer. 3

4 11. Accountholders are entitled to earn unlimited number of contest entries. 12. The Bank will track the Accountholders contest entries automatically at the end of the Promotion Period based on the transactions posted and reflected in the Bank s system. No contest entry form or registration of participation is required. 13. One hundred and twenty (120) qualified Accountholders eligible for the Grand Prizesand Consolation Prizes respectively will be randomly selected at the end of the Promotion Period ( Shortlisted Accountholders ). 14. The Shortlisted Accountholders will then be contacted by the Bank or its appointed Contest Manager, Dynamic Search Sdn. Bhd. (136574V) ( Dynamic Search ) on a best effort basis with the latest telephone number(s) furnished by the Shortlisted Accountholders as shown in the Bank s system ONCE at any time during office hours (9:00a.m. to 5:00p.m.) to answer two (2) questions. 15. If the Shortlisted Accountholder fails to answer the telephone after five (5) rings for any reason whatsoever, the Accountholder is deemed to have missed the winning chance and the Bank or its appointed representative shall have the absolute right to select another Shortlisted Accountholder whenever necessary. 16. Shortlisted Accountholders will not be notified on- the- spot whether he/she is the Winner of the Promotion upon completion of the question & answer session. 17. Selection of winners will be based on the most questions answered correctly within the fastest time recorded. 18. Three (3) out of the twenty (20)and ten (10) out of the One Hundred (100) Shortlisted Accountholders for the Grand Prizes and Consolation Prizes respectively, who answers the most questions correctly in the fastest time will be declared the Winners( Winners ). 19. Each Shortlisted Accountholder is eligible to win one (1) Prize only. 20. The Winner s JSA- i Account must remain open, active and valid with a minimum deposit of Ringgit Malaysia Two Thousand Five hundred (RM2,500) as at 30 June 2015, failing which, the Winners shall be disqualified. 21. The Winners shall be notified by the Bank either in writing, by phone or by posting the Winners list at the Bank s website at no later than 30 September If the Accountholder does not receive a notification in writing, by phone or via publication at the website from the Bank by 30 September 2015, the Accountholder is deemed NOT the Winner of the Promotion. 23. The Prizes shall be credited into the Winners JSA- i account no later than 30 September 2015.The Winners JSA- i account must be remain open, active and valid during the Prize crediting day, failing which, the winners shall be disqualified. 4

The Winners shall be responsible to notify the Bank in writing no later than 31 October 2015 for non- receipt of the Prize failing which, the Winner shall be deemed to have received and accepted the Prize from the Bank. 25. The Winners may be requested to attend a prize giving ceremony, of which the date, time and venue will be notified by the Bank. All transportation, accommodation, personal expenses and any other costs incurred in relation to attending the prize giving ceremony shall be borne by the Winners. 26. Accountholders hereby give their consent to and authorize the Bank to disclose their names, contact numbers and addresses to Dynamic Search engaged by the Bank for the purposes of Winners selection and prize giving for this Promotion. 27. Accountholders also hereby give their consent to and authorize the Bank to disclose or publish their names, IC numbers (in masked form) or photos in media, marketing or advertising materials for the purposes of this Promotion. GENERAL 28. By participating in the Promotion, Accountholders agree to be bound by the T&Cs of the Promotion, General T&Cs of Accounts of HLB and HLISB or any other relevant T&Cs the Bank may impose from time to timewith twenty- one (21) calendar days prior notice,as well as decisions of the Bank and the panel judges. 29. The Bank s decision on all matters relating to the Promotion shall be final, conclusive and binding on all Accountholders and no further correspondence and/or appeal to dispute the Bank s decision shall be entertained. 30. Accountholders who have committed or are suspected of committing any fraudulent, unlawful or wrongful acts in relation to any of the facilities granted by the Bank or have been declared Bankrupt (pursuant to a petition by either Banks or by any third party) or are subject to any bankruptcy proceedings at any time prior to or during the Promotion Period shall NOT be eligible to participate in the Promotion. 31. The Bank reserves the right to disqualify any Accountholders for any reason whatsoever as the Bank may in its absolute discretion deem fit to participate in the Promotion. 32. Accountholders are liable and shall personally bear all applicable taxes, government fees or any other charges that may be levied against them under applicable laws, if any, in relation to participating in the Promotion. 33. The Bank reserves the right at any timewith twenty- one (21) calendar days prior notice to add, delete, suspend or vary the T&Cs contained herein, either wholly or in part, at the Bank s discretion 5

6 by way of posting on the Bank s website at or in any manner deemed suitable by the Bank. Accountholders agree to access the website at regular time intervals to view the T&Cs and ensure to be kept up- to- date on any change or variation to the T&Cs. 34. The T&Cs shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Malaysia and Accountholders agree to submit to the jurisdiction of the Courts of Malaysia. Eligible for protection by PIDM 6
