INVITATION Dear Colleagues, The International Symposium on Cancer Nanomedicine will be held in Ege University, School of Medicine, Izmir, Turkey between 7-9 November 2013, with the contributions of Ege University, Izmir Institute of Technology, Katip Celebi University, Dokuz Eylul University and Gediz University. During this event, contributions of nanotechnology in the field of oncology including the current status of nanomedicine in oncology and the importance of targeted imaging and therapy strategies will be discussed. Internationally renowned scientists will share their research and perspectives on nanomedicine. Multidisciplinary interactions and discussions will be further stimulated through oral and poster presentations of original research. Medical technologies today have been reduced to nanoscales, and nanotechnology has been applied in various fields of medicine. Reflections of this progress can be observed in the field of cancer diagnosis and treatment. Aforementioned Symposium aims to gather scientists and engineers, from the field of nanotechnology, with medical doctors and pharmaceutical scientists, working on diagnosis and treatment of cancer, and facilitate a mean for collaborations and novel project ideas. Within the events, "The Best Poster" and "The Best Hypothesis" competitions will be also held. "The Best Poster" will receive an award. "The Best Hypothesis" award will be limited to graduate and undergraduate students. The organization of the symposium has been led by Ege University Cancer Reseach and Practice Center and supported by Ege University School of Medicine, School of Pharmacy and Department of Bioengineering, Izmir Institute of Technology Faculty of Science and Faculty of Engineering, Dokuz Eylul University School of Medicine, Katip Celebi University School of Engineering and Gediz University School of Engineering. As the chair of The International Symposium on Cancer Nanomedicine, it is my belief that this event will serve to the prospects of researchers, both oncologists and scientists/engineers, interested in the field of nanomedicine, especially providing means for the conception of novel multidisciplinary studies. Prof. Dr. Ayfer Haydaroğlu
