3 Destination TURKEY European and National Funding Opportunities for Brain Circulation, R&D Cooperation and Research Career Workshops was held in Boston and Michigan on November 30th; December 2nd Presentations on TUBITAK National Funds, Marie Curie Actions and National Science Foundation were delivered More than 20 host organizations from industry and academia met with the researchers in USA.

9 Objective: The project of Biopolysurf aims at providing a platform for research and training in this multidisciplinary field. The main goal will be the engineering of advanced nano-functionalized polymeric surfaces for smart systems in biomedicine, biology, material science and nanotechnology by assembling molecules and nano-objects into functional patterns. 10 Objective: The ECGTN will reduce the European research and training gap in corporate governance by bringing together leading academics and institutions from economics, finance, management, political economy and law in Europe to train doctoral students in conducting world class research in this important area. 11 Objective: The TIES project is a collaborative and comparative research project on the descendants of immigrants from Turkey, Ex-Yugoslavia and Morocco in eight European countries (Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland). The second generation refers to those children of immigrants who were actually born in the receiving country, and have followed their entire education there. 12 MODNET - Research Training Network in Model Theory Objective: This project is designed to promote training and research in model theory, a part of mathematical logic dealing with abstract structures (models), historically with connections to other areas of mathematics.
