Real Salon Experience In our hands-on Hairstyling program, you ll get to practice what you learn at our on-campus salon. Under the supervision of an instructor, you ll deliver full salon services such as cuts, colors and hair extensions on real clients. You ll develop a client database, which you can take with you when you graduate, and gain real world skills in customer service, marketing and merchandising. Photo Shoots From developing your creative concept to collaborating with make-up artists and photographers, you ll be spearheading your own photo shoots to bring your vision to life. You ll also get to build your e-portfolio and learn the skills needed for working in editorial and television/ theatre. Electronic Portfolio MC College ensures students are equipped with the tools necessary to become successful in the Hairstyling industry. You ll set your career in motion as you ll create a personalized electronic portfolio to showcase your knowledge, experiences, accomplishments and photographs of your creative work to clients and potential employers. From tablets to smart phones and laptops, you ll be able to show off your skills, anywhere anytime. Volunteer / Community Events Beauty changes lives. At MC College, students make a difference by volunteering at community events. From head shaves for cancer to doing cuts for the less fortunate, you ll have the opportunity to participate in these events, while at the same time expanding your craftsmanship and networking with potential clients. Salon Environment Our salon resembles the fast-paced and engaging environment of a real salon. Complete with high-end hair care and coloring products, a dispensary room and hairstyling chairs, you ll learn the art of hairstyling and provide full salon services at our supportive, welcoming and fun learning environment. Pivot Point Training System Hairstylists are artists who are naturally visual and creative people. At MC College, we re breaking the cycle of basic education by using interactive learning materials so that you can learn at your own pace. Whether English is your second language or you re struggling to keep up at school, the Pivot Point training system will boost your learning potential and improve your confidence. The system includes a combination of textbooks, study guides and multimedia learning tools, all available on Artist Access, a one-of-a-kind online learning library that s only available at MC College.

how to get in 1. Contact an Admissions Advisor to set up an information session and tour one of our campuses, either in-person or through Skype. 2. Submit the following: High School Transcript Students should have a Grade 12 diploma with a minimum of Grade 11 English, Math and Science Career Investigation. Presented in any creative manner. This may include slideshows, essays, videos or story boards, and include the following: Research about wages, job availability, career paths, and career advancements in the Hairstyling industry. Personal reasons for choosing a career in the Hairstyling industry. Long-term goals Mature Student Status: In place of their High School diploma, Mature students who are 19 years of age or older may complete a GED (General Equivalency Diploma). For students who attended high school outside of Canada, completion of the school entrance exam with a passing mark of 65% may be substituted for a High School transcript. 3. Apply for financial aid and scholarships *must be 17 years of age or older to apply
Graduation We want to kick start your career in the beauty industry with a big bang! Every year, we host two formal graduation ceremonies at each campus. Your friends, families, MC College faculty and industry partners are invited to celebrate and recognize your achievements. You ll get to wear a cap and gown for the awards ceremony, take pictures at our photo booth, and enjoy a dinner and dance. Awards and scholarships such as academic achievement, citizenship and the Frank Cairo award are handed out. Scholarships Current full time MC College Students To recognize MC College students for their dedication, creativity and hard work towards becoming successful innovators in the beauty industry, we award our students with scholarships that are valued between $300 and $800. scholarships & graduation High School Students If you re a High School student with a passion for the beauty industry and are interested in attending one of our full-time programs, we have a $1000 Creative Scholarship with your name on it! On average, we award over $100,000 worth of this scholarship every year to High School students.
