3. Who can participate in the selection? Selection criteria: Second-year Bachelor student (you started in 2015-2016) All first-year courses obtained at the time of the registration deadline (Monday 9 January 2017, 12:00 hrs noon) at the very latest

5. Ranking Ranking After the registration deadline a ranking will be made, based on study progress and first-year average grade. Ranking position Students will be informed about their ranking position by e-mail.

7. How to choose the right university Things to consider: Academics (courses), culture, language, finances, etc. >> Check the university website, partner list, essays of former students, contact former/exchange students University preferences realistic when considering ranking? Check your ranking position. Check former allocation list to find out which average grade/rank was required for a university. Discuss your options with the IRO
8. Application Application: university preferences - Online application form - Choose 6 (or less) universities of your preference Note! - Minimum GPA 7,0 for (most) universities outside Europe! - Not possible to do your exchange in country of origin (where you were born and raised)

Allocation study abroad places Allocation based on ranking position Places will be allocated based on your ranking position: - study progress and first-year average grade 2 ranking categories: 1) Group 1: students who passed all first-year courses in first exam, ranked on first-year average grade 2) Group 2: students who passed one or more first-year courses in the second exam, ranked on first-year average grade Horizontal allocation of study abroad places
10. Confirming allocated university Confirmation - Confirm your allocation through online confirmation form - Confirmed spot is binding. Switching or cancelling is not possible No allocation? Participate in the after selection. Only students who participated in the selection can join in the after selection. List of still available places will be published. Allocation according to initial ranking position. Students who didn t participate in the selection (e.g. because they didn t meet the requirements at the time of the registration) can apply for a remaining spot after the after selection, once all requirements have been fulfilled.
11. Application at host university After selection - Pre-departure session (compulsory) in April/May (incl. Cultural Awareness assignment) - Nomination by FPN/IRO - Application at host university Application procedures and deadlines differ per university! Information from host university Host university will send information about application, courses, accommodation, etc. per e-mail (through IRO and/or to you)
12. Approval for elective period abroad Requirements for Electives abroad: - First- and second-year courses (period 1, 2, 3) passed - Experimental Obligation should be fulfilled at least 6 weeks before the start of the exchange period See Education and Exam regulation (EER) Bachelor 2015-2016 and www.askpsy.nl/electives-abroad Request approval of Board of Examiners - Application form through www.askpsy.nl/contact - All requirements should be fulfilled at the time of application - Your allocation is only final after receiving official approval! Failed one or more second-year courses (period 4, 5, 6)? This is allowed. You can participate in the resit after return
13. Requirements for electives abroad Available courses / courses chosen by former students Refer to host university website and essays former exchange students Course requirements - Minimum level of second-year Bachelor or higher; - Related to objectives of FPN Bachelor programme; - No overlap with mandatory courses of the FPN Bachelor programme; - Electives must be approved by the Board of Examiners Requirements for ECTS for language course - Other electives are taught in the language concerned; - At least 12 ECTS obtained in courses in language concerned; - Maximum of 6 ECTS can be obtained for language course. How much ECTS? - Minimum of 24 ECTS in electives (or 12 ECTS for MaRBLe + 12 in electives) - Minimum of 12 ECTS for justification Erasmus / FPN / Holland scholarship Insufficient credits obtained? Paper or resit at host university; elective at FPN in period 3. Not possible? Ask approval from the Board of Examiners for an individual elective at FPN.
14. Language preparation Recommended language proficiency: B2 level (CEFR) IRO doesn t ask for a language certificate; host university may ask for an official proof or TOEFL score at time of application. Check the partner university requirements. Language proficiency assessment possible through UM Language Centre! Language of instruction Language of host country, English or partly English. Language course UM language centre, language course at host university/host country or other. Erasmus+ Online Linguistic Support (OLS) Online language test + language course (for free) for EU exchange (www.erasmusplusols.eu)
15. Money matters Estimation of costs Refer to university website; essays of former exchange students and https://www.wilweg.nl/landen/ Tuition fee waiver Exchange through a formal exchange agreement. You are registered and pay tuition fees at UM; no additional (tuition) fees charged by host university. Student travel card (OV) compensation Get a compensation by temporarily submitting your travel card Scholarship through the IRO
