2 What is the InFocus DisplayLink Mac Driver? The InFocus DisplayLink Mac driver enables you to add an additional monitor to your Intel based Mac using DisplayLink technology. This driver allows you to run your InFocus DisplayLink enabled projector on any Intel based desktop or laptop Mac, allowing you to connect up to 4 additional monitors via USB. Using the DisplayLink driver DisplayLink software for Macintosh is provided as a driver only (DisplayLink Manager software is not included). Once the driver is installed and your projector is connected, the driver will appear as another monitor connected to your Mac. Note: Power PC-based Macintosh computers, such as late-model imacs, PowerBooks and PowerMacs, are not currently supported.

6 Installing the DisplayLink driver First, plug the USB cable into the projector s DisplayLink connector and your Mac. Then, do one of the following: If a folder opens which contains a file named DisplayLink Installer.pkg: Open that file and follow the instructions on the screen. Or, if instead a Projector icon appears on the desktop: Go to www.infocus.com/support/displaylink and download and open the latest Mac OS X DisplayLink driver, then follow the instructions on the screen.
7 INSTALLATION AND USAGE Step 1 Step 2 When laptop and projector are connected a disc drive will show up and then a window will appear with the DisplayLink Installer.pkg. Click this to install. A DisplayLink Software Installer window box then appears. Simply hit continue to install.
8 INSTALLATION AND USAGE Step 3 Step 4 The next window is simply a Software License Agreement. You may click Agree and continue, or Disagree and exit the installation.
9 INSTALLATION AND USAGE Step 5 Step 6 You may use the default installation path or specify an installation location of your choice. Depending on computer settings, you may have to enter your password to install.
10 INSTALLATION AND USAGE Step 7 Step 8 Mac OS X will prompt you with another dialogue box double-checking that you want to install and reminding you that you will need to restart your Mac once installed. Installation is complete! Click Restart
11 INSTALLATION AND USAGE Step 9 Step 10 Once your Mac has restarted, you may open the Mac display preferences and change any settings you wish. It s recommended to select Show displays in menu bar so you may easily access display controls. Clicking the Arrangement button allows you to position your two displays by dragging them around (extended mode), or you can select Mirror Displays to project your desktop exactly as it appears on your Mac.
12 INSTALLATION AND USAGE Step 11 If you ve chosen to select the Show displays in menu bar checkbox in Display Preferences, you can easily set and switch resolutions for both your Mac and your projector from the menu bar. In this image, an IN3102 in mirror mode displaying at 1280x800 is shown.
13 MONITOR CONFIGURATION: MULTIPLE DISPLAYS Managing Multiple Displays When attaching a display that the software has not seen before, the display will default to being extended to the right of the main display. To configure the settings for each of your USB attached displays, select Displays from the System Preferences menu. This will open a Display Preferences window on each of your attached displays allowing you to configure each display as required. It is possible to use the Gather Windows button to bring all the Display Preferences windows onto the main display.
MONITOR CONFIGURATION Display Preferences: Resolution Options Setting the Display Resolutions To change the display s resolution, select an available resolution from the Display Preferences window of the display you wish to change: The resolutions available depend on both the DisplayLink enabled product and the capabilities of the connected display. Setting the Position of Displays If your computer is connected to more than two displays, you can specify that some are mirrored displays and others show the extended desktop all managed through the Mac specific display properties. You can arrange your displays so that they match the physical layout of your displays by selecting the Arrangement pane within Display Preferences. This ensures that you can easily navigate between all connected displays. 14
15 MONITOR CONFIGURATION Setting the Display to Mirror mode When in Mirror mode, additional displays will display what is being shown on the primary display. Checking the Mirror Display on the Arrangement pane enables this feature. Display Preferences: Displays set to Mirror Display Preferences: Displays set to Extended Setting the Display to Extend To extend connected displays, make sure that the Mirror Display on the Arrangement pane is unchecked.
16 MONITOR CONFIGURATION Known Issues This release does not support OpenGL acceleration (3D hardware acceleration).
