Though the list may not contain all of the community services related to stroke, each of these organizations can direct you to the appropriate resource or information. The NECCAC can help you access the following services: Information and Referral: To assist you in finding community support services in your area. Other services provided to eligible clients: Nursing: Provide nursing services such as health assessment, medication and wound management and teaching. Personal Care/Caregiver Respite: Help with personal hygiene and activities of daily living, e.g., help with bathing. In-home caregiver relief. Stroke Rehabilitation: Services that help you regain independence, e.g., Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech Therapy. Information on private rehabilitation services can also be obtained from the yellow pages under Rehabilitation Services. Nurse Practitioner: Provides primary health care to clients 65 years and older who do not have a physician or nurse practitioner and are housebound.
