SPAM Filter Procedures The ACPS Office of Technology has upgraded the Division s SPAM filter. The upgrade provides a new, easy-touse Web interface that enables users to administer their quarantined e-mail and personal settings. Your etrust Secure Content Manager 1. Open the quarantine report from your Inbox 2. Under the blue stripe, click on View Your Quarantine Folder (see above). 3. Log in using your e-mail/network password. o Type in your User Name. If this is not successful, try either of these two examples: dcheston@schls.albco, or dcheston@k12albemarle.org. o Type in your current e-mail/network password. If this does not work, contact your CTIP or Troubleshooter or call the Help Desk @ 975-9443. o If you do not have any quarantine reports in your email account Inbox and you still want to check your filter, type this http://scm.k12albemarle.org/selfadmin/login.aspx into your browser. Follow the same procedure above. It is helpful to save this link to your Favorites for quick access. Log In
Quarantine Page 1. Please note on the upper right corner there are 5 navigation buttons labeled Quarantine, Allow/Deny Lists, Settings, Help, and About. The page you are viewing below is the Quarantine page. 2. This is a view of the emails which have been caught in your personal filter. 3. Click on the box to the left of individual email you are selecting to take action on or you can click on the Select All button to the right side of the screen if you want to take action on all the emails at once. This is quicker when you know you want to Delete all the emails at once, for instance.
4. On the left side of the screen, above the list of emails, you will see a drop down arrow that will give you the different action options on how to handle your quarantined emails. a. After reading your options, please note the following: i. Sender is referring to an actual email address such as dcheston@k12albemarle.org. ii. Domain is referring to a group such as k12albemarle.org. b. Click the box to the left of the email that you are choosing an action option for c. Highlight the option you would like d. Click Go. NOTE: This etrust Secure Content Manager releases your emails to your Inbox in batches so you may need to wait a little longer (10 15 mins.) then the previous quarantine program. On the Quarantine page you will, again, have navigation buttons over to the right top of the screen. Click on the Allow/Deny Lists button.
Allow/Deny Lists page 5. Allow List for the addresses and domains that you would like to bypass your filter and go directly into your Inbox. 6. Click email or domain (see explanation above) and type in information into the white bar. 7. Click Add. 8. To delete an email address or domain from the Allow list or the Deny List, a. Highlight the item b. Click the trash can to the left of the list boxes. 9. The Deny List is for those emails you want to always go through the filter. Follow the same procedure above to add email addresses and domains to the Deny list. 10. When you are finished making changes to your Allow/Deny Lists page, REMEMBER TO CLICK ON ONE OF THE SAVE BUTTONS ON THE PAGE to save your changes.
Settings page 11. This portion allows you to establish how you want to be notified of a quarantine report. 12. This is where you will establish when you want to be notified 13. This will allow you to establish the view you want for your notification. Some things to keep in mind It takes a little longer for your released emails to appear in your Inbox than the previous filter program, so give it time. Remember to delete your quarantine notification from your Inbox when you are finished with that report.
