Fort Vancouver District s Webelos Woods 2015 What: Fort Vancouver District Webelos Woods 2015 When: Friday, October 16th - Sunday, October 18 th, 2015 Webelos should arrive on Friday evening after 4:00 Saturday Only Check in 8:30-8:45 Where: Camp Lewis, 27000 NE 147th Ave., Battleground, WA 98604 Cost: $10.00 per person (Webelos and Adults) Saturday Only $7.00 per person (Webelos and Adults) Questions: Julia MacDougall JBTMAC@comcast.net 360-907-0730 Registration Online at www.cpcbsa.org/register Information for Adults Webelos Woods is a fun-filled weekend of camping, outdoor activities, and scouting skills, designed to give Webelos Scouts an in-depth preview of the Boy Scouting experience. The program centers on areas of interest to any Webelos Scout: competitive events, simple scouting skills, games, camping, meal preparation and campfires. Webelos Woods is designed to give first and second year Webelos Scouts and their adult partners a preview of the Boy Scouting experience. The program reinforces Boy Scouting values, procedures, methods, and skills. It is an introduction to Boy Scouts being a 'boy-led' program versus the 'adultled' program used in Cub Scouts. For many Webelos this is their first opportunity to experience the thrill of camping in the outdoors at a Boy Scout style camp. Our goal is to foster a desire to continue Scouting. All Webelos Scouts are invited to participate in Webelos Woods, through their Pack Leadership. Pack must provide a minimum 1 adult for every 5 Webelos. The more adults that attend the better time everyone will have. Please remember you also need to provide 2 deep leadership for your group. Webelos Dens will arrive at Camp Lewis Friday evening and check in at the Headquarters. After you have presented a complete roster of all attending Scouters, Scouts and Parents, you will be assigned a campsite. All participants will receive wood cookie nametags. These necklaces help us identify who is in camp. Please encourage your scouts and adults to wear their nametags.

Your unit is responsible for meals on Friday and Saturday. The staff will be hosting a pancake breakfast on Sunday morning. We suggest that you eat dinner before arriving Friday evening (or bring a sack dinner). You should plan on three meals at camp: Saturday breakfast, lunch, dinner and at least 1 campfire snack. You may want to add the food cost to the registration fee you collect from your members. During your September Den meetings you may want to have the Webelos plan their menu and assign each scout a Duty to perform during each mealtime. (See Attached Menu planner and Duty Roster) Please communicate the following Camp Lewis rules to parents and Scouts (where appropriate): Fires only in fire rings Please let Julia know if your group needs a fire-ring. Each Den will need to bring their own firewood No alcoholic beverages, firearms, archery equipment or fireworks No pets allowed in camp Carry out everything you bring in (including trash) No siblings, unless they are Webelos Scouts All vehicles will be parked in the parking lot. Gear must be carried to campsites.
