Dash Disassembly Scion tc 2005-2010 1. Unsnap trim from around shifter (not necessary to be removed). (Figure A) 2. Unclip and remove panel from around radio. (Including climate controls and radio door). (Figure B) 3. Remove (2) 10mm nuts from the top B mounting locations and (2) 10mm bolts from the bottom mounting locations to remove the radio. (Figure C) 4. If installing a ISO DDIN aftermarket radio, remove factory brackets from radio. Retain brackets for use during kit assembly. Continue to kit assembly (Figure A) (Figure B) (Figure C) 3
Dash Disassembly Scion tc 2011-2016 1. Unclip and remove the radio trim panel. (Figure A) 2. Remove (4) 10mm bolts securing the radio. (Figure B) 3. If installing a ISO DDIN aftermarket radio, remove factory brackets from radio. Retain brackets for use during kit assembly. Continue to kit assembly (Figure A) (Figure B) 4
Dash Disassembly Scion xa 2004-2006 1. Pull outward on the (3) climate control knobs and remove. (Figure A) HI 2. Remove (2) Phillips screws from behind the outer two climate knobs. (Figure B) HI 3. Unsnap and remove the trim pieces on each side of the climate control/ashtray/pocket assembly. (Figure C) 4. Remove (2) phillips screws from the bottom of the climate control/ radio trim panel and unsnap and remove the entire panel. (Figure D) (Figure A) (Figure C) 5. Remove (4) Phillips screws to remove the factory radio. HI HI 6. If installing a ISO DDIN aftermarket radio, remove factory brackets from radio. Retain brackets for use during kit assembly. HI 99-8257 Dash Disassembly Scion xb 2004-2006 1. Pull outward on the (3) climate control knobs and remove. (Figure A) 2. Remove (2) Phillips screws from behind the outer (2) knobs. (Figure B) HI HI 3. Unsnap and remove the entire panel B surrounding the climate controls and the radio. (Figure C) 4. Remove (4) Phillips screws to remove the factory radio. (Figure A) (Figure B) (Figure C) 5. If installing a ISO DDIN aftermarket radio, remove factory brackets from radio. Retain brackets for use during kit assembly. Continue to kit assembly 6
Dash Disassembly Scion xb 2008-2015 1. Unclip and remove the trim panel around the radio including the a/c vents. (Figure A) 2. Unclip and remove the trim panel at the bottom edge of the dash cavity. (Figure B) 3. Remove (4) 10mm bolts securing the radio. (Figure C) 4. If installing a ISO DDIN aftermarket radio, remove factory brackets from radio. Retain brackets for use during kit assembly. Dash Disassembly Scion xd 2008-2014 1. Unclip radio trim panel. Unplug and remove panel. (Figure A) 2. Remove (4) Phillips screws securing the radio. Unplug and remove radio. (Figure B) 3. If installing a ISO DDIN aftermarket radio, remove factory brackets from radio. Retain brackets for use during kit assembly. (Figure C) Continue to kit assembly (Figure A) (Figure C) (Figure B) 8
DIN radio provision with pocket 1. Slide the mounting brackets onto the sides of the radio housing until the side clips engage. (Figure A) Note: Use Bracket Set 1 for xa, xb 2004-2006, and tc 2005-2010. Use Bracket Set 2 for the xb 2008-2015 and xd 2008-2014. 2. For Bracket Set 1 cut and remove all mounting tabs except the tabs being used for your application. (Figure B) Note: Tabs are marked xa, xb and tc. For Bracket Set 2 skip to step 3. 3. Remove the metal DIN sleeve from the aftermarket radio. 4. Slide the sleeve into the radio housing and secure by bending the metal locking tabs outward. (Figure C) Note: A DIN spacer has been provided if extra depth is required. This will go into the radio housing before the sleeve. 5. Slide the aftermarket radio into the sleeve until it snaps into place. (Figure D) 6. Locate the factory wiring harness and antenna connector in the dash and complete all necessary connections to the radio. Metra recommends using the proper mating adapter from Metra and/or AXXESS. Test the radio for proper operation. 7. Secure the completed assembly into the dash, and then reassemble the dash in reverse order of disassembly. Kit Assembly ISO DIN radio provision with pocket 1. Slide the mounting brackets onto the sides of the radio housing until the side clips engage. (Figure A) Note: Use Bracket Set 1 for xa, xb 2004-2006, and tc 2005-2010. Use Bracket Set 2 for the xb 2008-2015 and xd 2008-2014. 2. For Bracket Set 1 cut and remove all mounting tabs except the tabs being used for your application. (Figure B) Note: Tabs are marked xa, xb and tc. For Bracket Set 2 Side clips skip to step 3. 3. Remove the metal DIN sleeve and trim ring from the aftermarket radio. (Figure A) (Figure C) 4. Mount the ISO DIN brackets to the radio using the screws supplied with the radio. (Figure C) 5. Slide the bracket/radio assembly into the radio housing until it Bracket snaps into place. (Figure D) Set 1 6. Snap the ISO DIN trim plate onto the front of the radio housing. (Figure D) 7. Locate the factory wiring harness and antenna connector in the dash and complete all necessary connections to the radio. Metra recommends using the proper mating adapter from Metra and/or AXXESS. Test the radio for proper operation. 8. Secure the completed assembly into the dash, and then reassemble the dash in reverse order of disassembly. (Figure B) (Figure D) 10
Kit Assembly ISO DDIN radio provision 1. For Scion tc and xa models only: Cut off the front upper section of the ISO DDIN brackets as shown. (Figure A) 2. Secure the factory mounting brackets, and the ISO DDIN brackets to the radio with the screws supplied with the radio. (Figure B) Note: Remove the locating pins from the factory brackets with a grinder. 3. Locate the factory wiring harness and antenna connector in the dash and complete all necessary connections to the radio. Metra recommends using the proper mating adapter from Metra and/or AXXESS. Test the radio for proper operation. 4. Secure the completed assembly into the dash, and then reassemble the dash in reverse order of disassembly. (Figure A) (Figure B) 11
