Creating a personalised image template You can create your own branded, personalised images in the Kickdynamic platform. To create a personalised image you will require a background image. To create your own template, navigate to the account section within the platform: Click on Image Templates. To create a new template click new template, or you can edit or duplicate an existing template. Name the template and click on the white rectangle to select it:
Upload a background image Click on Upload Image to upload your background image. Add the dimensions you require the personalised image to be. Ensure that you select the correct image size. You can create a retina image here by uploading an image that is twice the size required and then scale it back in the email html. Adding image personalisation Once you have determined the image size, click on the Add Personalisation icon in the editor to add the personalisation elements to the design. Once you have clicked on Add personalisation a text box will appear. Use the preview vales to add example text, the font editor to edit font colour, size, style and alignment and the transformations to alter the positioning of the box on your image. When you are happy, click next.
Adding the image personalisation continued Top tip: Determine what the longest name in your database is to ensure that it fits in the style/design you have created. You can preview the image personalisation by clicking on the edit/eye button at the top left of the template builder. Save changes.
Creating the Tag Navigate into the campaigns section of the platform: Create a new campaign or selected the campaign you wish to build the tag for. Select the personalised images option from the drop down menu. Enter a mailing name and click next. Configure your personalised image by entering a description and a link for the image to click through to. Select the template you wish to use and click next.
Upload a fallback image You may wish to upload a fall back image. This is optional: Configure the personalised image Configure the personalised image tag by select the text area you wish to configure and then on the right hand side enter the value. In this example we are using title and surname so you would click on the title box and enter title in the parameter name: Repeat for each personalisation box as necessary. Click next.
Preview the personalised image You can preview the tag in the next screen. Simply enter an example of the data in the boxes and generate the preview: Click next to generate the tag. Upon clicking done, the personalised image tag will appear in the campaign. You can edit the campaign in this section.
Merge personalisation into the Tag To merge in your data you need the merge codes from your ESP. In this example the merge codes are: Title: <%${user.customattribute['title']}%> Surname: <%${user['lastname']}%> These codes need to be merged into the tag where indicated in red: <a href="https://img.kickdyn.com/clickpers.ashx?c=327.agn4ypwocg4anybbosrd"> <img src="https://img.kickdyn.com/imgpers.ashx?c=327.agn4ypwocg4anybbosrd&titl e=value&surname=value" border="0" /></a> So the tag becomes: <a href="https://img.kickdyn.com/clickpers.ashx?c=327.agn4ypwocg4anybbosrd"> <img src="https://img.kickdyn.com/imgpers.ashx?c=327.agn4ypwocg4anybbosrd&titl e=<%${user.customattribute['title']}%>&surname=<%${user['lastname']}%>" border="0" /></a> Insert the tag into your email html where the image sits. Updating the personalised image template If you make changes to the template after you have created the personalised image campaign you will need to navigate back to the campaign and change the template to pull the changes through. To do this click on the edit button and follow the steps. Tick the Change Template box and select the template you have updated. Click next and save.
