System Overview The Savant Systems multi-window HDMI video processing technology, SmartView Tiling, allows viewing of multiple windows (tiles) on a single display with up to a maximum of nine windows per display. A display can be an HD television, controlled by a TrueControl app on an ipad or on a Mac. SmartView Tiling switches many video sources between the windows in various 1080p display layouts, for example, an SSP-0600 can switch up to 12 digital sources between six windows. The video input sources can be any audio/video source, including Blu-ray player, cable TV, satellite TV, and Apple TV. SmartView Tiling supports audio on one window at a time when a particular window is selected. SmartView Tiling provides a multiple split display option. User defined presets and virtually an unlimited number of presets provide quick recall of saved configurations and content. Savant s SmartView Tiling supports common features such as: Analog and digital aspect ratio Presets Multiple input types The display options offered with SmartView Tiling include the following: Ability to adjust sizing and position of tiles Individually adjustable video parameters including brightness, contrast, color and temperature. Glossary The terms described in this section are referred to in this user guide. Term Gestures ios Device Description Multi-touch gestures are used for navigation on your ios device using your fingers to tap, scroll, pinch, and swipe. An ios device can be an ipad, ipod touch, ipad mini, iphone, Savant Select, or Mac running the TrueControl app. PIP Picture in Picture Preset SSP-XXXX Tiling A control that is set or adjusted beforehand to facilitate use. The Savant SmartMediaPro series of controllers that provide high definition (HD) video switching and audio switching, and enable SmartView Tiling when equipped with VOM-SV02 output video modules. Savantʼs app that enables users to access the control functionality of their Savant SmartSystems from the desktop of their Mac OS X computer. The app matches the look and functionality of Savant's award-winning ios apps available for the ipad, iphone and ipod touch. A Savant feature which provides an on-tv menu system for interacting with a Savant system. Savantʼs technology providing an innovative interface that allows you to touch actual images of a room to initiate commands. A user zone is a user specified area where physical controllable devices are placed, for example, a living room. In user zones you can control HVAC, lighting and A/V equipment with an ios device. SmartView Tiling User Interface Using the Savant ipad Retina theme to access the SmartView Tiling user interface, you must open the TrueControl app. Tap the Savant icon as circled on the next screenshot. SmartView Tiling User Guide 13 of 25

The SmartView Tiling user interface provides customization of tiling layouts, supports finger gestures, allows you to configure presets and general layout, and control sources and audio. Layouts Sources are indicated within each tile of a particular layout with text. Audio is displayed in a specific tile to indicate which audio source is active. To set the current layout, do the following. 1. 2. 3. Select the layouts button (circled in the next screenshot). A popover will be presented which contains all of the supported layouts and presets. Controlling Sources and Audio Tapping on a tile within the layout will produce a pop-over that offers control options for the user. Creating a Custom Preset By adding a preset, the user has the ability to customize preset names. The keypad will appear and the Name field will become editable. To save a preset, do the following. 1. Select the layouts button (shown circled in the next screenshot). 2. Press the edit button in the upper left, or press the plus sign (+) button on the upper right of the popover. 3. Select Add Preset if edit button is selected. 4. From the Add Preset popover tap SmartView Tiling User Guide beside a service to select a channel for a TV source. 16 of 25

6. Confirm the channel has been associated with the source. See the number or favorites logo in the next example screenshot. 7. Select name field and enter a name for the preset. 8. User Interface Gestures: Pinch From Full Screen A two-finger pinch will contract the screen graphic. The next largest step down will highlight User Interface Gestures: Pinch from Middle Tile A two-finger pinch will contract the middle tile from one large front tile, four back to one small front, four back. User Interface Gestures: Moving and Swapping Sources A tap and drag of the a tile graphic will make the tile graphic smaller. When the tile graphic is moved to other tiles, the tiles will highlight and give the user a visual indication that the tile can be dropped in that area. When the user releases the graphic, the sources are then swapped from tile to tile. In the case illustrated here, Apple TV and Cable TV have been swapped. Summary of SmartView Tiling User Interface Gestures The next table describes some of the ways to manipulate tiles using the SmartView Tiling user interface. Task Method Sending Services To a Tile 1. Touch a tile. 2. With one finger, drag the tile in any direction. 3. Move the tile to a tile without an active service (the overlapped tile should highlight). 4. Release your finger. Swapping Services Between Tiles 1. Touch a tile. 2. With one finger, drag the tile in any direction. 3. Move the tile to a tile with an active service (the overlapped tile should highlight). 4. Release your finger. Expanding To Next Layout 1. Touch a tile with two fingers. 2. Move your fingers away from each other. 3. As your fingers move apart, the next available tile option highlights. 4. When expanding reaches the desired layout, release your fingers. NOTE: This method is only applicable to: One Large Front, Four Back, and all six large layouts. Shrinking To Next Layout 1. Touch a tile with two fingers. 2. Move your fingers toward each other. 3. As your fingers move closer, the next available tile option highlights.. 4. When shrinking reaches the desired layout, release your fingers. Shrinking To Previous Layout 1. Touch a tile with two fingers. 2. Move your fingers toward each other. 3. As your fingers move closer, the tile will shrink and only the previously-used tile option will highlight. Changing Audio Assignment 1. Locate the speaker icon. 2. Tap and hold on the icon until it grows and moves under your finger. 3. Drag the speaker icon into a tile. The tile will highlight. 4. Release your finger. Selecting Layouts 1. Select the layouts button (it looks like a grid). 2. A popover will be presented which contains all of the supported layouts and presets. 3. The layouts will be sectioned by the number of screens they have. Selecting Presets 1. Select the layouts button (it looks like a grid). 2.
