3 Getting started Getting started Welcome to Microcat MARKET. Microcat MARKET is a web-based electronic parts catalogue and ordering system designed for independent trade repairers that order parts from a genuine parts dealer. Some of its advantages are: 24 hours a day, 7 days a week access between the trade repairer's workshop and their supplying dealer Access to VIN or model data, parts data, illustrations and pricing Fast and accurate parts selection Transfer of parts orders to your supplying dealer. 4 Getting started Microcat MARKET overview Microcat MARKET contains a library of vehicle catalogues, in which parts are organised into major and minor sections. The minor sections include illustrations of specific sections of the vehicle. The selection of parts within Microcat MARKET is performed using a three-step model: 1. Identify the vehicle 2. Select parts 3. Finalise the order. The Microcat MARKET screen contains these areas: The navigation bar which is used to navigate through the main screens The navigation tabs which follow the 3-step model of selecting parts The main screen for identifying a vehicle, selecting parts, and finalising the order. Microcat MARKET operates optimally in full screen mode. Press the F11 key on the keyboard to display in full screen mode. Infomedia Ltd
5 Getting started Log on and off To log on to Microcat MARKET: 1. Open Microsoft Internet Explorer and use the URL provided by your dealer. 2. Enter a User Name and Password. 3. Click the Logon button. To exit Microcat MARKET, click Log-Off in the navigation bar. Infomedia Ltd
6 Identifying a vehicle Identifying a vehicle The first step in locating parts is to identify the vehicle using the Identify Vehicle screen. To identify a vehicle, use one of the following methods: Search by VIN or license plate Select vehicle details Infomedia Ltd
7 Identifying a vehicle Search by VIN or license plate The vehicle can be identified using the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), and in some locations the vehicle license plate number. The VIN search is the most reliable method of identifying the vehicle and enables the most accurate selection of parts. To identify a vehicle by VIN or license plate: 1. Click the title bar of the Vehicle Identification Search panel. 2. Select the search type. For example, VIN. 3. Type the VIN or license plate into the entry field. 4. Click the Search button to retrieve vehicle attributes. The vehicle information such as model, year and other attributes will be displayed. 5. Click the Next button to load the vehicle catalogue. 8 Identifying a vehicle Select vehicle details The vehicle details can be selected to identify a vehicle. The more vehicle details that are entered the more accurate the parts selection. To identify a vehicle by vehicle attributes: 1. Click the title bar of the Vehicle Selection panel. 2. Select the build year from the Year drop-down menu. 3. Select the vehicle line from the Vehicle drop-down menu. 4. Select all known details from the drop-down menus. 5. Click the Next button to load the vehicle catalogue. The Select Parts screen will be displayed. The vehicle information bar at the top of the screen indicates the vehicle catalogue that is currently loaded. Infomedia Ltd
9 Selecting parts Selecting parts Once the vehicle has been identified, the parts can be located using the Select Parts screen. To locate parts, use one of the following methods: Use the Graphic Index to locate parts graphically Use the search feature in the Part Search panel Infomedia Ltd
10 Selecting parts Use the Graphic Index The Graphic Index is a pictorial index of the major and minor sections of a vehicle. To locate parts using the Graphic Index: 1. Click the required major section icon. The corresponding minor sections will be displayed. 2. Click the required minor section icon. The corresponding illustration will be displayed. If more than one illustration is displayed, select the required illustration. Infomedia Ltd
11 Selecting parts 3. Click the required callout on the illustration. The part information will be displayed. If more than one part is displayed, click on the required part. 4. Click the Add to Cart button. The part will be added to the Shopping Cart and will also be displayed in the Mini Cart. 5. To go to the Shopping Cart, click the Check Out button in the Mini Cart. To return to the start of the Graphic Index, click the Graphic Index icon. The drop-down menus next to the Graphic Index icon can also be used to navigate the sections and illustrations. 12 Selecting parts Search by part description The Part Search panel allows you to search for parts using a variety of search types including the part description. To search by part description: 1. Type a key word in the Search field. 2. Select the search type. For example, description. 3. Click the Search button. The search results will be displayed. 4. Click on the required search result. The illustration will be displayed with the callout of the part highlighted. The part information will be displayed. If more than one part is displayed, click on the required part. Infomedia Ltd
13 Selecting parts Search by part number The Part Search panel allows you to search for parts using a variety of search types including the part number. The manufacturer part code can also be used to locate parts. To search by part number: 1. Type a part number in the Search field. 2. Select the search type. For example, part number. 3. Click the Search button. The search results will be displayed. 4. Click on the required search result. The illustration will be displayed with the callout of the part highlighted. The part information will be displayed. If more than one part is displayed, click on the required part. Infomedia Ltd
14 Selecting parts Select an illustrated part When you select a minor section, the illustrations relevant to that section are displayed. The illustrations contain callouts to indicate a part. To select a part: Click the required callout on the illustration. The part information will be displayed. If more than one part is displayed, click on the required part. Infomedia Ltd
15 Selecting parts Adjust the illustration display The following options are available to view more of an illustration: Use the vertical scroll bar on the right of the illustration area to scroll top to bottom Use the horizontal scroll bar on the bottom of the illustration area to scroll left to right Use the vertical slide bar on the left of the illustration to slide the bar to the left or right. The icons on the toolbar can be used to adjust and print the illustration: Actual Size sets the illustration size to 100% Fit Page adjusts the illustration to fit the screen Fit Width sets the illustration to the width of the screen Print Image prints the illustration Pan Image allows you to move the illustration in all directions Next Arrow allows you to move through multiple pages of a section. 16 Selecting parts Add parts to the Shopping Cart Once the required part has been selected, it can be added to the Shopping Cart. To add parts to the Shopping Cart: 1. Click the required callout on the illustration. 2. Enter the quantity in the Qty field. 3. Click the Add to Cart button. The part will be added to the Shopping Cart and will also be displayed in the Mini Cart. 4. To go to the Shopping Cart, click the Check Out button in the Mini Cart. To quickly delete a part in the Shopping Cart, select the part in the Mini Cart and press the Delete key on the keyboard. Infomedia Ltd
17 Finalising an order Finalising an order The order can be finalised in the Check Out screen. To access the Shopping Cart, click the Check Out button in the Mini Cart. Alternatively, click the Check Out tab at the top of the window. The Check Out screen can be used to: View and edit an order Clear an order Print an order Save an order Send an order. Infomedia Ltd
18 Finalising an order Edit a line To edit the quantity of an ordered item: 1. Click in the Quantity field of the line you wish to edit. 2. Type the required quantity or use the up and down arrows. The quantity will be updated. Delete a line To clear a line: 1. Click the Delete icon on the line you wish to remove. 2. Click the Yes button to confirm the deletion. The line will be removed. Delete an order To delete an entire order: 1. Click the Clear button. 2. Click the Yes button to confirm the deletion. The order will be deleted. Infomedia Ltd
19 Finalising an order Print an order To print an order: 1. Enter the order details such as the order name, if required. 2. Confirm the parts, quantities, price and subtotals. 3. Click the Print button. The order will be printed. Save an order To save an order: 1. Finalise the order. 2. Enter the order details such as the order name, if required. 3. Click the Save button. The order will be saved and can be accessed via the Orders screen. To retrieve a saved order: 1. Click Orders in the navigation bar. 2. Select the saved order. 3. Click the Open button. 20 Finalising an order Send an order To send an order: 1. Finalise the order. Enter the order details such as the order name, if required. The order details will be included when the order is sent to the dealer. Extra information can be added into the Message field. 2. Select the order options such as the payment and delivery details. 3. Click the Send button. A message will be displayed confirming that the order was sent successfully. 21 Accessing and managing orders Accessing and managing orders Orders that have been saved or sent to a supplier can be managed in the Orders screen. The Orders screen is useful to store orders to be sent at a later date, or to retrieve orders that have been sent to the supplying dealer. To access the Orders screen, click Orders in the navigation bar. The Orders screen can be used to: Delete a saved or sent order Copy a saved or sent order View a sent order Open a saved order. 22 Accessing and managing orders View saved or sent orders The Orders screen contains the following information: Order Name and Job: displays information from the order details in the Shopping Cart. License Plate: displays the vehicle's license plate number. Status: the status of the order will be displayed as Sent, Not Sent or Sent and Confirmed. Confirmation Number: displays the confirmation number received from the dealer. Supplier Comments: displays any comments from the dealer. Date Confirmed: displays the date the order was confirmed. Date Sent: displays the date the order was sent to the dealer. Infomedia Ltd
23 Accessing and managing orders Work with saved or sent orders To manage orders, select an order and use the following options: Click the Delete button to delete a saved or sent order. Click the Copy button to make a copy of the order in the Shopping Cart. Click the View button to view an order that has been sent to the supplier. Click the Open button to restore an order to the Shopping Cart. Only orders that have not been sent can be opened for editing in the Shopping Cart. To return to the 3-step model of finding parts, click the Buy Parts icon in the navigation bar. Infomedia Ltd
24 Customising Microcat MARKET Customising Microcat MARKET Microcat MARKET can be customised in the following ways: Adjust panel size and layout Change user preferences Adjust panel size and layout The panel size and layout can be adjusted to suit the information you wish to display. The main panels that can be adjusted are the Part Search, Part Information and the Mini Cart. To minimise or maximise a panel: 1. Click the Minimise icon to minimise the panel. The panel will be minimised, and only the panel title bar will remain visible. 2. Click the Maximise icon to return the panel to full size. To reposition a panel: 1. Click, hold and drag the panel you wish to move to the required position. 2. Release the mouse. The panel will be repositioned. Infomedia Ltd
25 Customising Microcat MARKET Change user preferences To access the Administration screen, click Preferences in the navigation bar. The Administration screen contains the following tabs: Catalogue Options: contains language preferences, part number and price formatting. Account Profile: contains the user account details. Notify your supplier of any new details. Change Password: contains your password settings. To change your password, enter your password into the Old Password field, and then enter the new password into the New Password and Confirm New Password fields.
