Jewish Family and Children s Service of Minneapolis Guide to Giving Opportunities

Donor Directed Support JFCS has a budget of nearly $8.5 million. Donor directed support totals just over $2.2 million. Represents almost 25% of our Annual Budget and is continuing to grow. In 2014 JFCS had 2,600 unique donors. Other gifts include Hag Sameach, Future Gifts Realized, General Operating Support Our goal continue to grow, grow, grow donor directed support. Renew donors year after year, cultivate new gifts and seek other opportunities for dollars! Give2014 2014 Annual Benefit Tribute Cards Program Sponsors Other Gifts Endowment Fund Draw

Annual Benefit Largest Jewish Community fundraiser. Includes; dinner, comedian, live auction, friends of the family award, dessert reception and more Major Gifts recognition starts at $1,000 and go to the $15,000 level. Sponsorship start at $2,500 to underwrite a Benefit area and go up from there to an endowment level. Tickets - $50 includes the dessert reception and entertainment. Prices go to $275 for a dinner ticket. Other giving opportunities include; Program Auction, Online Auction, Raffle Tickets and $100 Pull. The 2014 Annual Benefit raised $585,000. Annual Giving Annual Campaign (Give) Formerly known as Membership, the Annual Campaign has existed for several years. In 2014 the name changed to Give2014 and so on Mail campaign is launched in the spring and continues until December 31 st. JFCS Staff and Board members are involved in the campaign with letter signing, phone calls and face to face meetings. The Give Campaign is unrestricted dollars used for all programs and services at JFCS as needed. Give2014 raised $518,000.

Endowments & Future Gifts Endowment Funds Endowment Funds are established to support JFCS where most needed or directed support per the family/individual. Cost to establish a fund is $2,500 and we have 270 funds and nearly $11 million invested. Currently we take a 4% draw (based on a 3-year rolling average). This year we will support our programs with $363,000. All funds are listed in the Directions newsletter, on our website, in our annual report and our fund booklet. Future Gifts Promise for the Future is JFCS s Campaign to encourage donors to leave a legacy gift. Nearly 100 gifts have been established some have been realized, others we will get in the future. In 2014 we received $385,000 from estate gifts. Those who give us permission are published on a Promise for the Future list in our Annual Report.

Tribute/Mitzvah Donations A great way to honor or recognize a family member, friend or loved one during a time of joy or time of sorrow. Donations can be made to the General Endowment Fund or to a Named Fund (established by a donor for a specific purpose). List of funds can be found on the JFCS website as well as in the Directions newsletter. Fund booklets and donation envelopes are available at the JFCS office at any time or we can mail a supply to you. A beautiful card is sent to the recipient acknowledging that a gift has been made in their honor. In 2014 nearly 6,000 cards were sent out from JFCS and nearly $150,000 contributed to the funds.

How Can You Help? Make your own gift to JFCS support the Give2015 Campaign, the Annual Benefit or both. Think about the impact you want to make at JFCS by giving. Sign letters to donors and potential donors. A personal touch makes a big difference! Help us reach out to all the people we'd like given our limited staff (including individuals and corporate contacts). We can use your assistance as "door openers" or actual stewards Check if your company or business has a matching gift program and maximize your giving to JFCS. Consider how you want to support JFCS in the future: Establish an Endowment Fund Commit to a Promise for the Future a commitment that is little or no cost to you now.

THANK YOU Our success is because of the commitment of our Board of Directors, Donors, Volunteers and all those who are engaged with Jewish Family & Children s Service of Minneapolis. Thank you for spreading the word, leveraging support and sharing your passion with others!
