Direct Photographic Studio Studio Our Studio has 2000sqft of clear un-interrupted space, a 17ft ceiling height and a 21ft wide infinity cove. With Direct photographic located on site next door we have all of the lighting & camera equipment you could ever need, this also provides an excellent opportunity to try the latest new equipment in the comfort of our studio. Direct Photographic - Introduction Camera Rental Our camera department is much more than just a camera department. At Direct Photographic we have the latest equipment from Apple including the ipad2 and the new 17 inch MacBook Pro featuring super fast solid state drives, fully loaded with all the software you might need, including Capture One, Photoshop CS6, Final Cut Pro etc; Eizo screens, Epson printers, Wacom tablets, Canon projectors, are all readily available through our rental desk. Cameras obviously feature heavily within our inventory and technology is at the forefront of the Direct Photographic offering. The flagship Phase One 645DF camera coupled with the IQ140 or IQ180 digital backs make this system the perfect hi-end camera platform. Plus, all our Phase One cameras arrive with the V air grip which allows you to trigger and talk to Profoto packs such as the Pro8 or B3 using the air system. HD cameras feature via the latest from Red, the Scarlet-X stills and motion capture camera. Canon is represented with the new Cine C300 broadcast quality camera, the new Canon Eos1D X as well as the 5D MKIII and the 7D. Camera grip and accessories include video tripods from Sachtler and Manfrotto, focus systems from Red Rock and Chrosziel, microphones from Rode as well as traditional camera tripods from Gitzo and Sekonic light & colour meters. Our camera technicians are on hand to assist with any advice or help that you may require. If you d like a demonstration with any of our kit, then just give us as quick call to make sure the kit is here and we ll put the coffee on. There s also free parking here at our Waterloo base. Consumables Direct Photographic are the UK s largest stockist of background paper, we hold every colour in all the popular sizes. We are authorised dealers for Lee Filters, carrying a large inventory of lighting gels and these are available by the roll or the meter. SanDisk memory cards, batteries, poly boards, sash cord, croc clips and even tennis balls for the bottom of lighting stands to save those precious floors when you are shooting on location! We aim to think of every consumable you may need, but if there is something that we don t currently stock then we d love to hear from you. Delivery/Collection We employ our own dedicated drivers using our own fleet of eco friendly stop start trucks. Our deliveries are despatched using our custom designed equipment cages that are load locked within the vehicles ensuring your precious cargo arrives on time in perfect working order. worldwide via our air freight partners or via our other offices in Paris or Cape Town. If you prefer to collect or arrange your own transport then Direct Photographic is centrally located near to Waterloo Station in SE1. Our free car park makes it easy for you to drop by with no time pressures or traffic wardens. We re open 8am-7pm, Monday to Friday and a team member will be on hand to help you load your vehicle. Photographic Training Courses Our aim is to ensure you are confident in using equipment to its full potential, which is why, at Direct Photographic, we have developed specific training courses for students and assistants, and technical master classes for those of you who are more experienced. We grew up on it and continue to be driven by technological change and innovation. Our Broncolor flash inventory includes the new Scoro flashpack, their largest reflector the 330cm Para, the new balloon light and ringflash specifically designed for the Para reflector to provide a fantastically even soft light source. The 4kw HMI from Briese uses their patented Focus reflectors ranging in size from 77cm to a huge 330cm. If less power is required we can offer the Joker bug 800w HMI with a 5ft or 7ft Octabox to ensure an even softlight. We have the latest Kino Flo Vista & Para beam fixtures as well as the energy efficient, dimmable, colour temperature changeable LED lite panel that can be powered for hours on long lasting lithium batteries. If you wish to use traditional tungsten Fresnel fixtures we offer from 150W to 12KW, or in HMI, from 200W to 18KW. From Profoto we offer the new Pro 8air mains pack and the B3air battery solution including the new lightweight LiFe battery. Account Information How to trade with Direct Photographic We like to make life simple so our aim is to ensure dealing with Direct Photographic could not be easier. All general enquires and rental bookings can be made directly through to our rental desk on: 020 7620 8500 or mail@directphotographic.co.uk We have two methods of payment for rental bookings, you can pay on the day or you can open a 30-day credit account with us. In all cases, all rental & sales orders should be emailed or telephoned through to our rental desk in order that they can provide you with an estimate and to check stock availability. For consumable sale items such as background paper, gaffer tape, lighting gels etc. these can be added to your credit account or we can take payment via all major credit or debit cards. Cash Account (Immediate Payment): With this kind of account, each time you rent equipment from us we will need to take the payment for the rental in advance and a deposit against the value of the equipment. The deposit has to be taken on a credit card issued in the name of the hirer as a pre-authorisation, similar to a hotel booking or car rental deposit. The amount of the deposit is dependent on the items that you are hiring so this will be notified to you by a member of our rental desk team at the time of your booking. In order to set up a cash account you will need to complete a Cash Account Application form (available via our website), then visit us in Waterloo in order for us to validate your identification. This will need to be completed prior to the rental starting. You will need to bring with you the following documentation: 1. One form of photo ID (driving licence or passport) 2. Two utility bills from different suppliers detailing your address and these must be in the name of the hirer and dated within the last 3 months 3. A valid credit card to cover the deposit (This must be in the name of the hirer) Please note: A cash account can only be set up by the cardholder paying for both the deposit and the rental. It is not possible to rent equipment on a cash account without a valid credit card in the cardholder s name. We may also need to take a picture of the hirer in order that this can be provided to the authorities if required. Credit Account (30 Day Credit Account) If you are a regular hirer then having a credit account with Direct Photographic is much simpler and will allow you up to 30 days credit before you have to pay. All you need to do is fill out and submit our online form and then our credit control team will then run a credit check on you or the company applying. Subject to approval, your account will be ready to use within in a few days. Credit references will be required from your existing suppliers that you regularly use and we will use these to validate your account being opened. Credit accounts do not require a deposit to be taken ensuring this is the easiest type of account to have if you are a regular hirer. Please note: The first rental on your new account will need to be paid for in advance and after completion of your first hire with Direct Photographic all future rentals will enjoy 30 days credit.
