Spring was the first semester for me to take over the Internship in General Business. This required developing content for the course in addition to its orchestration of employment for students. Teaching Innovation - Course enhancement, "Incorporating Virtual Job Interviews". (April 2009 - May 2009). In my BCM247 class students were given the opportunity to participate in a virtual job interview in SecondLife. Student Evaluations, "Student Evaluations". (August 2008 - May 2009). Student evaluations were conducted for all courses taught in the Fall and Spring semesters. The overall average of all items in all courses was 4.2. The average of all of the college required items was 4.3. The item common to all courses that scored the highest was, "I can apply information/skills learned in this course" with an average of 4.7. The second highest item was, "The syllabus is an accurate guide to course requirements" with a 4.5 average, followed by two items each with an average of 4.4. These two were, "I believe my instructor wants everyone to succeed in this course," and "My instructor displays a clear understanding of course topics." Teaching Innovations Fall 2009, GBU 461-20 Added a new version of the software instructional CD that introduced students to new technologies. Fall 2009, GBU 485-1 This class was changed from a pass/fail course to a graded course. Fall 2009, GBU 310-500 The student evaluations for this course averaged 4.1. The two lowest scored items were "My instructor encourages questions and expression of ideas," and "My instructor displays enthusiasm when teaching." Each had a 3.8 average. This would surprise me as usually these are two of my highest items. However, due to an automobile accident early in the fall semester I probably was not as interactive as I usually am during a semester. There was one negative comment about the amount of work in the course. The other comments were either neutral or positive and included things such as: "I really did learn a lot of stuff about Microsoft that I did not know." "Things that I will see on document I now know how to put them on papers"; "This taught me new ways of using Microsoft Word Program"; "Very helpful information."
