I volunteered to teach this course because it is one of the largest career fields for College graduates in the U. S. This was a challenge for me because it was the first time I had taught this course, in almost 30 years of teaching in the College of Business at SFA. Innovations: Introduced new class academic project: each team of students was required to develop a marketing plan, for a U. S. corporation, using the Dr. Philip Kotler marketing plan method. My students voted to present their marketing plans as an Oral Presentation at the end of the semester. I still required a brief written report of their marketing plan, paper copies of all overheads used in their presentation, along with a written bibliography page and paper copies of all periodical articles used to support their Oral Presentation. Summer 2011, MKT Innovation: New class academic project topic assignments: Marketing Ethics, and Cross Cultural Consumer Influence. Fall 2010, MKT Innovation: Introduced new class academic project: Each team of students was to develop a Marketing Plan, using the Dr. Philip Kotler marketing plan method, for an American Business firm. Spring 2009, MKT For the class term project I required an expanded Marketing Plan, including not only total revenue and net income data, but also for the first time: total and average attendance data, average ticket price data, total team valuation data, etc., for a sports businesses or a sports team. This additional data was required to be included and analyzed in their Marketing Plan for the course. SERVICE ACCOMPLISHMENTS Professional Memberships

(September 1, August 31, 2012). This MMIB department committee reviews student scholarship applications and chooses several students to receive scholarships each year. Mostly wrote, with faculty and administrators input, new course, Sports Promotion, that was taught in Spring 2011, and Spring Also, updated and changed course prerequisites and course descriptions for two courses. (September 1, August 31, 2011). Chair of Committee that searched for and selected a new Department Chair for the MMIB Department. The MMIB Department is one of the largest departments within Stephen F. Austin State University. Formed committee, made job and duty assignments, searched for candidate, went thru selection process, faculty vote process, committee vote process, received approval from Dean to make offer, made offer and helped Dean secure Dr. Mitch Crocker as new MMIB Department chair. Offered and helped secure the new Chair of MMIB Department, Dr. Mitch Crocker. MMIB Student Academic Honor Societies, Advisor. approximately 40 hours spent for the year. (September 1, August 31, 2011). Advisor for all three Department Student Academic honor societies: 1. Mu Kappa Tau, National academic honor society for Marketing majors, 2. Epsilon Chi Omicron, National academic honor Society for International Business majors, 3. Sigma Iota Epsilon, National academic honor society for Management majors. Recruiting students to join, collecting dues, writing letters to students, securing banquet room, notifying SFA students, and parents the date and room of banquet, securing speaker at banquet, MC at banquet, passing out membership certificates, congratulating students, and parents, etc. Honored hundreds of outstanding students over the last 10 years and recognized their parents also. MMIB SECC/United Way campaign, Chairperson. approximately 20 hours spent for the year. (September 1, August 31, 2009). Helped raise united way funds from faculty in my department Fundraising activities raised large sums of money for SECC/United Way over 25 years College of Business Tenure & Promotion Committee, Chairperson. approximately 20 hours spent for the year. (September 1, August 31, 2012). Served as chair of the College of Business Tenure Committee, for the review and Tenure of our new Dean, Geralyn Franklin, and the review and tenure of two College of Business faculty members. Met as a committee with Associate Dean and other college faculty members. Reviewed the tenure appication materials, approved applications. Wrote letter of recommendation for Tenure for new Dean and two college faculty members, and secured signatures of all faculty members of committee. Committee process resulted in awarding Tenure to our new Dean, Dr. Geralyn Franklin, and two College of Business faculty members. MMIB Showcase Saturday Committee, Chairperson. approximately 50 hours spent for the year. (September 1, August 31, 2012).
