Results Examination Results Days The Examination Boards issue results for all subjects on Thursday 18th August (A-Level/Level 3 BTEC) and Thursday 25th August (GCSE / Level 2 BTEC). This year we will again be using our school coms system to email students results to parents. We have obtained permission and up to date email addresses from all students prior to them leaving for the summer break. This should negate the need for any students/parents to join queues at school or get annoying engaged tones on phones whilst trying to get their results. In addition this process provides every student with a set of results in an official format with which they can demonstrate to colleges/schools that your son/daughter has met the necessary criteria for entry. For A Level/Level 3 UCAS automatically receives your grades and they in turn inform prospective Universities. We hope you agree that this should be a far more efficient way of ensuring that students get their results in a timely manner wherever they may be. We intend to hit the send button at 0900hrs UK time (1000hrs CET) as I am not allowed to release results until this time. If you do not receive an email within half an hour, you are welcome to call the school office 05241 842226/2231, but please do not do so before 1030hrs CET. Also, from 1030hrs, Senior Staff and our Advice, Guidance and Careers specialist will be available on the numbers above should you have any queries or concerns about College or University places. Certificates No dates have been given for the availability of certificates, but it would be reasonable to assume that they will be received by the end of November.

School Uniform trou- King s School Uniform can be purchased from the above company via the internet, including school black sers and black school skirts. You will no longer have to wait for the school to open; just go on-line in the comfort of your own home and have all school items delivered to your BFPO address or direct to the school. The web address is: www.motif8.co.uk Alternatively, you can go through King s School Website and click on the link which will take you directly to the Uniform Shop. King s School Uniform policy can be found at: www.sce-kingsschool.net, along with a full list of items your son/daughter will need when joining King s School. Sixth Form students will need to refer to the Sixth Form Handbook also available on the website. Please note King s School Shop has very few school uniform items. All clothing should be ordered from Motif8 in the first instance. The school shop will not be stocking clothing items once previous stock has been sold. UNIFORM COSTS The cost of uniforms has not increased for 5 years but unfortunately, due to the recent trend in the exchange rates, the school now needs to reflect on the cost we purchase at. This will entail raising the uniform prices after the Easter Holiday (April 13 th 2015) but this increase will be kept to a minimum. The Clearance price on cardigans, sweatshirts and the back-up rugby top from our existing stock will remain at 5 per item. All other uniform will be sold at pre-increase rates. Thank you for your understanding and if I can be of any further assistance, please feel free to contact the bursary directly at the school. NOTE: If you would like to discuss your child s report or grades, please contact the school s main reception on 05241 842210 and ask to speak to their tutor. Alternatively you can email them from the addresses on the website. General Reports Every student has a target grade and our regular progress reports to parents indicate not only the effort and behaviour of students, but also the grade at which they are working. To try to make this information more meaningful for parents we apply a traffic light colour code with grades to highlight our assessment of where a student stands in relation to target grades. So, if a student continues to perform as they have been doing our forecast is as follows: Red - Student is unlikely to reach target Yellow - Student should reach target Green - Student likely to exceed target Students who achieve a green light early in a year may well have their target raised. The parent portal gives you secure access to the school centralised database which holds details on your child s reports, attendance, timetable, achievement, behaviour, examinations and assessments. You can access this information 24 hours a day from any internet connected PC or mobile phone. The parent portal is particularly useful for those parents on deployment. If you can get access to the internet, then you can keep up to date with how your child is doing in school. To apply for a login to the Parent Portal please email: kcn.portal@sceschools.org For security reasons we can only process your request for an account for the King's School parent portal, if this email originates from the same email address you provided the school for your main email point of contact. As a further security check can you please provide details to the following questions when requesting an account: Childs full name: Childs Date of Birth: Applications from other email addresses will not be accepted.
