SEMINAR PROSPECTIVE Standing conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE) is an apex professional body representing the Central Government Public Enterprises in India & abroad. It,s present membership is about 246 public enterprises. It has some State Public Enterprises, Banks, and other Institutions also as its members. SCOPE is the major interface between public enterprises and government of India. It provide the opportunities to the member enterprises to regularly deliberate on various policy issues and concerns, which are addressed by interacting with concerned government authorities to enhance the efficiency, performance and profitability of public enterprises. Its Vision is to enable member enterprises to be globally competitive in a market driven environment. SCOPE also organizes interactions/discussion meetings with eminent personalities of various ministries, institutions and interest group to evolve a consensus and suggest new policy initiatives to the concerned ministry. It also organizes numerous seminars, workshops, training programs, and conferences with an objective to bring under sharp focused economic and management issues along with training the managers of the enterprises to compete them in increasingly competitive environment. BACKGROUND With the growth of CPSE s in India, the number of domestic and International contracts as well as the arbitration cases are increasing. However, the settlement of arbitration cases are taking longer time and involving huge amount of money. Most of the CPSEs are entering into commercial contracts with private & international associates as well as following international practices in the procurements. SCOPE felt to provide the platform for deliberations on issues & concerns of CPSEs while executing commercial contracts & dispute resolutions through arbitration and addressing of the same for the benefits of members. Further to assist the CPSE s by faster settlement of arbitration cases SCOPE has created a Forum i.e. SCOPE Forum of Conciliation and Arbitration (SFCA), which provide arbitration services through its empanelled conciliators/arbitrators as well as providing platform for sharing the latest development in the area of Arbitration, Conciliation, and issues relating to domestic and foreign arbitration, procurements related issues etc. through interactive sessions. During the seminar the participants shall discuss the practical issues emerged during the course of arbitration, national & international procurement, formation of cross boarder joint venture, and related case studies by eminent professional & experienced speakers. In the context two days Seminar has been organized by SCOPE on 21 st & 22 nd September, 2015 at SCOPE Convention Centre, SCOPE Complex, Lodhi Raod, New Delhi.
