UNICEF Club (UC) member schools are devoted to promote child rights education in schools through organizing various activities. They nurture schoolmates to become global citizens and encourage them to actively concern about the state of world s children. UNICEF Clubs organize a wide range of activities from promotion, education, advocacy to fundraising, in the hope of mobilizing their peers to strive for the goal of Zero Suffering for children. Change for UNICEF By King George V School UNICEF Club 21-25 October 2013 After the peak travelling season, the Club utilized this valuable opportunity to encourage students to donate their foreign currency as every penny counts! Soap Making Workshop By TWGHs Wong Fut Nam College UNICEF Club 22 October 2013 The Club introduced Global Handwashing Day in the morning assembly and held the after-school workshop to promote the message of Clean Hands, Saves Lives. In the workshop, students were given chance to make their own bar of soap! Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF By St. Joseph s College UNICEF Club 31 October 2013 During Halloween, the Club raised students awareness on how poverty, war and natural disasters threaten the lives of children through a fundraising activity. Street Performance By Hong Kong International School UNICEF Club 16 November 2013 It has been the second year since the Club organized Street Performance in the Stanley Market. This gave students a golden opportunity to show off their talents; allowing public to learn the mission of UNICEF in a relaxing environment. Page 1/6

Ribbons for Children By King George V School UNICEF Club 20 November 2013 In order to promote an AIDS-free generation, the Club made ribbons and pins to raise fund in support of UNICEF s HIV prevention work. The donation will be used to provide 200 pregnant women with the HIV/AIDS rapid diagnostic test kit to prevent the transmission of HIV from mother to baby. Game Stall and Charity Sale on Family Fun Day By Canadian International School UNICEF Club 24 November 2013 The Club held a game stall and charity sale during a family fun day. The Club designed interactive games, and prepared ice-cream, pizza and t-shirts for fundraising, helping children suffered from the Philippines typhoon disaster. Christmas Wishes for Children By Christian Alliance S C Chan Memorial College UNICEF Club 12-13 December 2013 It was a two-day school activity. Through exhibitions, students were invited to put up their wishes and blessings on a display board for the children around the world. Everyone was enthusiastic about this and very keen on expressing their minds. UNICEF Red Packet Charity Sale By Delia Memorial School (Yuet Wah) UNICEF Club January 2014 The Club held a charity sale to raise fund for improving the living and health conditions of children in rural China. Radio Broadcast By Ho Yu College UNICEF Club January - May 2014 The Club took part in the VOY school broadcast featuring topics of conservations, environmental-friendly ways for festival celebrations, life at school, exercises for fitness and healthy diet. Students conducted interviews with teachers and students, gathered resources and hosted radio programme sharing useful information and interesting stories within the school. Joint-School Day Camp By ELCHK Yuen Long Lutheran Secondary School, Holy Trinity College, Hong Kong Tang King Po College and PLK Lee Shing Pik College UNICEF Clubs 1 March 2014 The 4 Clubs jointly organized a day camp and designed lots of games and activities. Students had deep reflection upon their daily lives after understanding the lives of deprived children in developing countries. UNICEF Game Stall and Flag Day By Elegantia College UNICEF Club 3-4 March 2014 The Club set up display boards and game stalls to introduce UNICEF to their schoolmates. Students gained better understanding towards UNICEF by participating in games and activities. During recesses, the Club also spread the message further by selling flags to raise funds for children around the world. Visit to Rural Chinese Schools By Pui Shing Catholic Secondary School UNICEF Club 8-12 March 2014 The Club visited a rural school located in Guangdong province to learn more about their daily lives and learning environment. 24-hr Famine By Renaissance College UNICEF Club 14-15 March 2014 With the goal of helping students to understand the worldwide problem of famine, the Club organized a famine activity where students were not allowed to eat for 24 hours. During this period, they performed skits, finger painting and cardboard houses games. Public Speaking Competition By Wa Ying College UNICEF Club 27 March 2014 The Club organized a public speaking competition regarding children s rights and happy childhood. They hoped to use this opportunity to deepen the understanding of children s rights among schoolmates. Paralympics Game By Hong Kong International School UNICEF Club 31 March 2014 The Club organized a special athletic game for students to compete sport tasks in different disabilities, such as having their eyes covered and playing sports on a wheelchair. This gave students the opportunity to experience the difficulties facing people with disabilities. Join-School Experience Workshop By Belilos Public School, La Salle College, Maryknoll Convent School UNICEF Clubs 25 April 2014 The 3 Clubs held a joint event for their students. Through this workshop, students learnt the right to survival and the right to be protected, as well as some issues faced by children in developing countries such as clean water and malaria. Page 4/6

Refugee Dinner By Canadian International School UNICEF Club 4 April 2014 The Club partnered with Christian Action to invite refugees living in Hong Kong for a dinner gathering in which students were allowed to learn about their experiences living in Hong Kong. The Club organized various performance and games to break the ice between participants. They all learnt a lot especially on the difficulties and social isolation facing refugees. UNICEF Game Stall on School Anniversary By Madam Lau Kam Lung Secondary School of MFBM UNICEF Club 27 April 2014 School Orienteering: Run and See By La Salle College UNICEF Club 6 May 2014 The Club collaborated with St. John s Ambulance to promote children s rights. They designed a maze-liked game to spread message about the right to be protected, and then St. John s Ambulance showed students first aid equipment and taught students the basic first aid knowledge and steps. The Club held an orienteering event at school campus to raise awareness of child rights, by following the activity guideline of the Run and See provided by UNICEF HK. They put up different questions at school, and then participants were required to look for the checkpoints for completing a question set. Soap Making Workshop By Maryknoll Convent School UNICEF Club 11 May 2014 The Club partnered with Caritas to invite children to make handmade soap together, to spread the message of 'Clean Hands Save Lives' and also teach the proper steps to wash hands with soap. UNCIEF Carnival By HKUGA College UNICEF Club 13-14 May 2014 The Club held a two-day fundraising activity, selling marshmallows and biscuits with maltose. The fund was used to provide 1,000 packets of oral rehydration salts to save hundreds of children in developing countries. Poverty Banquet By Holy Trinity College UNICEF Club 14 May 2014 Their poverty banquet aimed to highlight the situation of world s children affected by hunger. By dividing students into groups representing the rich and the poor, they gained a deeper understanding of the impact of hunger issue. #childrenofsyria Charity Sale By Discovery College UNICEF Club 26-28 May 2014 The Club responded to the call from the UNICEF Young Envoys Club and organized a charity sale of A4 folders and wristbands to raise funds for Children of Syria, ensuring that their rights are protected. Not My Life Screening Workshop By Tin Shui Wai Government Secondary School UNICEF Club The Club applied the screening workshop provided by UNICEF HK, students learned about the situation of human trafficking around the globe, and realized the seriousness of human trafficking, especially the impact on children Visit to Kindergarten for Global Handwashing Day By Christian Alliance S C Chan Memorial College UNICEF Club 23 August 2014 In response to the Global Handwashing Day, the Club visited a nearby kindergarten and taught the kids the importance of washing hands correctly. They practiced the right steps of washing hands with soap, hoping that the UNICEF s goal of zero suffering for children will come true one day. Page 6/6
