TPP Online Club Quick Start Guide TPP Online Club is your golf club s online tournament solution. All of your club events are stored online in one location and accessed from any computer that has internet access. Golfers can register and pay entry fees online; public can view live scoring online via your club website during events; and club administrators will enjoy the ease of online tournament administration. This guide is not meant to be a complete manual, but rather more of a compilation of key tasks. Launching TPP Online Club There is no installation required for TPP Online Club. TPP Online Club is designed to run on multiple different browsers. These browsers include Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome and Apple Safari. GHIN recommends the program be run in Firefox. The website for TPP Online Club is tpp.ghin.com. The quick start guide will focus on creating a tournament and managing basic tasks of running an event through the Administration site.

Page 2 TPP Online Club Quick Start Guide April 2014 Click on Administration to get to TPP Online Club. Log in with your User Name and Password. Key Functions Courses Before you create a tournament in TPP Online Club, you must first set-up your course and tee information. Use Course -> Course Management to enter, view and change club, course and tee information, edit club details, copy tee information, add new courses and delete courses. Most specifically, this is the place where you add tee information, such as hole name, hole yardage, par, pace of play, green depth, and shotgun priority. There are 2 ways to add course information. Use the Import from Course Rating Program to import a course from the Course Rating Database. Course Rating information is available from all courses nationally and internationally, it is not limited to GHIN Association courses only. When the course is imported, it will include the yardage and par details ONLY if it has been added in the Course Rating Database. Use the Add Club/Course button to add a new Golf Club (Facility), add a new course to an existing Golf Club (Facility) and add a new set of tees to an existing Golf Club (Facility). Also, you may use the Add Club/Course button to make changes to tees and/or remove tees. Once you have used the Add Club/Course button to establish all of the tees at your club, it will be necessary to enter Course -> Course Management to add tee information.

Page 3 TPP Online Club Quick Start Guide April 2014 Creating a Tournament You can create a new tournament from the Tournament Menu Option. To create a new tournament when you log into TPP Online Club, go to Tournament -> Create Tournament The Basic Setup screen is displayed allowing you to name your tournament, select the gender and scoring type as well as any other applicable, information such as sponsor, description and host. From the Basic Setup screen define your number of rounds, number of holes (9-18), play dates (date begin and date end), round type (stroke play, stroke to match, match play, round robin, league play, and cup matches), details (gender, entry fee, expense code, shotgun) and default course and tee for each round for the desired tournament format.

Page 4 TPP Online Club Quick Start Guide April 2014 If applicable to your event, select the appropriate net information. From the Tournament Net Information Tournament -> Edit Tournament -> Net Information page you can assign handicap limits and make adjustments to Course Handicaps based on Section 3-5 (9-3ci) of the USGA Handicap System manual. Adding players There are basic and advanced ways to add players to a tournament using TPP Online Club. To select players from the Club Roster, select Players -> Add/Remove from Club List. By using this selection to add players to your tournament you will be able to see a list of players from the GHIN server who are active on your handicap roster. Highlight the desired golfer and use the > key in the middle of the page to move golfers to the selected column. Click Save once golfers have been identified.

Page 5 TPP Online Club Quick Start Guide April 2014 To select players from the Master Player list, select Players -> Master Player List. Place a check in the checkbox next to the players name and then click the Add to Tournament Button To add players to a tournament using the other methods, from the Main Menu Toolbar, select Players -> Other Add/Remove Player Options and select the desired other method; Copy Players from Existing Tournament or Custom Player Entry. Forming Teams and Flights If your event requires you to group players in some fashion, teaming and flighting options are available. Teaming can occur before or after flighting, whichever is the most practical for your event. Teaming options will award the user the ability to easily produce groupings for various events, such as college and junior (parent-child) formats. Flighting not only allows you to group players and teams; it is a required accompaniment to pairing construction for match play, round robin and league play. To form teams in your tournament: from the Main Menu, select Teams -> Create/Remove Teams. The Create Teams page is displayed allowing you to select the Team Group (New), New Team Group Name (Teams), Team Size, Creation Method (Entry Number is most commonly used for team creation when your players are entered in team order.). By clicking the Build Teams button you will be presented with the Team Setting screen. From the Team setting screen you will define your percentage of Course Handicaps, as it applies to your team event. When applying Course Handicap percentages the program use the term "Team Handicap." In simple terms "Team Handicap" means player handicap with percentage included. Make you desired percentage of handicaps and click OK.

Page 6 TPP Online Club Quick Start Guide April 2014 To form flights in a tournament: From the Main Menu, select Flights -> Create Flights and select the desired grouping: Players, Flights by Gender/Age, or Teams. Building Pairings Various formats are available for pairing your tournament using TPP Online Club. Typically, your pairing format will be indicative of the round type and detail you have defined during tournament creation. Once you have selected your desired round type and detail, the task of pairing your event should be easily attainable and require very little effort. To pair players or teams in your tournament: select Pairings -> Create Stroke Play Pairings. The Stroke Play Pairing screen opens allowing you to select the round, pair by method (PLAYERS OR TEAMS), course, PLAYERS/TEAMS per group, date, sort (used during the second round of play and you wish for the leaders to be paired last), pairing method (many choices are available, however the Random selection will allow

Page 7 TPP Online Club Quick Start Guide April 2014 you to adjust the pairings in Pairing Management), starting time and starting tee (or shotgun) and Interval. Note: When you use Shotgun as your Starting Tee method, you will be presented with the Wave Shotgun Group Assignments page. On this page you can adjust the number of groups for each hole or identify the starting hole. Please note, the number of groups must equal the current value or the ability to proceed will not be possible. Pairings Management Pairings Management provides options to customize pairings. You can move players from one pairing group to another, change the number of positions in pairing groups, delete pairing groups, or add pairing groups. You can add players/teams to pairings who joined the tournament after pairings were made, and you can remove players/teams from pairings while keeping them in the tournament for future rounds.

Page 8 TPP Online Club Quick Start Guide April 2014 Select Pairings -> Pairings Management. Note: To move PLAYERS/TEAMS into a pairing group, simply click and drag. To move PLAYERS/TEAMS out of a pairing group, click and drag to the list on the left. Players added to the tournament after pairings have been formed will be in the list on the left, waiting to be added to a pairing group.

Page 9 TPP Online Club Quick Start Guide April 2014 Generating Scorecards and Pairing Lists Various standard reports and scorecards are available for your event in TPP Online Club. Currently, the ability to design your own scorecard does not exist in TPP Online Club. Designing and modifying existing scorecards needs to occur in TPP Client. New reports and scorecards are frequently available via import. To generate a scorecard, from the Main Menu, select Reports/Scorecards -> Scorecards -> Scorecards Menu For scorecard printing, select round, flight group, team group (select TEAM when Teams exist), course, PLAYERS or TEAMS/card (Individual), Dots (when necessary), and Handicap (PLAYER or TEAM). Choose the desired scorecard type. The Laser Type 4 (404) allows for 6 players per card and is commonly used for tournaments that access two different sets of tees or used for scramble type events. Laser Type 5 (405) is the scorecard that contains a "tear away strip" at the top of the card and is used in individual events.

Page 10 2014 TPP Online Club Quick Start Guide April The Print Selected option can be used to print one scorecard at a time and is often used for printing scorecards for late entry players or players that have been substituted.
