Guidelines for Accepting Card Payments via Card Reader for Smartphones
To use the service, you must have: an account at Swedbank; access to Business Internet Banking; agreement for payment card acceptance; Request entry into the agreement Swedbank Card Reader for Smartphones; Purchase the device a smartphone or tablet PC (ios or Android) with Internet connection and Bluetooth support which will be paired with the Card Reader for Smartphones; e-mail account to be used for receiving merchant s copies of receipts and terminal reports; as well as for sending terminal receipts to customers. 2
Instruction for activating the Card Reader for Smartphones and pairing it with phone Enable Bluetooth on your phone. 1 Switch on the Card Reader for Smartphones by pressing the button on the side of the device and place it next to the mobile device to be paired with. Enter the code 0000 in the Card Reader for Smartphones and click the green button. 2 You will hear a sound signal every time the button is pressed. The code will not be displayed on the device screen. Two menus appear on the card reader s screen after entering the code: 1. Language; 2. Bluetooth Pairing. Use F2 (Down) or F3 (Up) or the relevant digit key to navigate the menus. Confirm your selection by pressing the green button. To set the language, open the menu 1. Language. Choose the device s interface language and confirm the selection by pressing the green button. If you wish to pair the Card Reader for Smartphones with a mobile device, open the menu 2. Bluetooth Pairing by clicking the button F2. Pair a new device? is shown on the device. Choose YES by pressing F1 button. 3 A four-digit code (PIN) appears on the device screen which is necessary to complete the pairing of the card reader with the mobile device. Open Bluetooth settings on the mobile device which you want to pair. Enable Bluetooth and for pairing select a device with a name that starts with icmp (for example, icmp-676932). The six digits after the letters match the serial number found on the back of the card reader. In the mobile device, enter the four-digit code (PIN) shown on the card reader s screen. A notification on the device screen shows a confirmation that pairing has been successful (OK). Important! The Card Reader for Smartphones can be paired with one mobile device only. Setting up card payments acceptance in the mobile device Download and install the Swedbank Latvia mobile app or, if necessary, update it to the latest version. Open the Swedbank Latvia mobile app and choose the app s version for corporate customers (on black background). 4 Select Settings (Android button with three dots in the upper right corner; ios system Settings icon), then Smart Device Settings. 4 To link up with the card acceptance agreement, log on to Business Internet Banking with the code card, the security token or the Mobile ID. If your Internet Banking user profile is linked to more than one company, choose the one that will use the Card Reader for Smartphones for accepting payments. 5 A list of card acceptance terminals linked to the company is shown on the screen. 6 Choose Install in order to set up the terminal. If you wish to disconnect a card acceptance terminal, choose Uninstall. Then, download and install the mobile app Swedbank Smart Device from the respective app store. Return to the Swedbank app and once again choose Install. 4 Android ios 5 6 Name Name Company Name 4
Select the terminal you wish to use (at the bottom of the screen). 7 Select the Smart Device you wish to use (at the bottom of the screen). 8 The terminal will retrieve merchant s data automatically. The installation steps will be shown on the screen of the mobile device. The device must stay connected to the Internet all this time. After installation, click Next at the bottom of the screen in order to continue. Set up 3 e-mail accounts. You may use the same or different e-mail addresses depending on your preferences: Set up the merchant s e-mail address the terminal transaction receipts for each successful and failed transaction separately will be sent to this address automatically. If the volume of transactions is expected to be large, we recommend using a dedicated e-mail address for this purpose. Set up the e-mail address for receiving bank reports bank statements, reports on transactions made in the card terminal. Set up the e-mail address for sending terminal receipt copies to customers. There are three options for how to set up the sending out of terminal receipt copies: Native if you wish to use the existing settings on your mobile device, you can set up this e-mail. In this case, you ll be able to send out receipt copies to customers from the e-mail account configured on the device, but the sending out will need to be done manually every time. Gmail you must enter the e-mail address and password when setting up. Once set up, the receipt will be sent out automatically you won t need to perform any additional actions. Manual for example, if you want the sending out to be from the e-mail address with your company s domain name. In order to set up the e-mail account manually, you will need detailed information about the e-mail account to be used (for example, you will need to specify e-mail server and port details). To make sure that the e-mail account has been set up successfully, a test e-mail message will be sent upon completion of the process. Go to your e-mail account and check if you ve received this message. If you haven t received the test e-mail message or if an error message shows up on the device screen, please make the necessary modifications. The terminal has now been set up and is ready to accept payments. 7 8 5
Instructions for accepting payments 9 Launch the Swedbank app on your phone and choose Swedbank Smart Device. Enter the amount payable and click Start transaction. 9 In order to make the payment, the customer must follow the instructions on the card reader s screen. The result of the transaction is displayed on the phone s screen as Transaction successful or Transaction failed. If the customer wishes to receive the terminal receipt, it can be sent to the customer s specified e-mail address or in a text message. A copy of the transaction receipt is always automatically sent to the merchant s e-mail address (if the native e-mail configuration is used, the sending must be confirmed manually). Important! If the terminal instructs you to get the cardholder s signature, write the transaction data on paper and ask the cardholder to sign. Transaction cancellation in the active working session (before the daily transaction report is sent to the bank) Launch the Swedbank Smart Device app on your mobile device. Click the information button i on the right side of the screen. 10 Select the Transactions view in the navigation. Select View transactions to browse transactions. Select the transaction you wish to cancel and click Cancel. Follow instructions in the terminal and on the phone screen. Ask the customer to insert the card into the Card Reader for Smartphones; PIN entry is not required. The transaction cancellation receipt is sent in the same way as in case of a successful transaction. 10 6
Receiving money in account 11 In order for money for transactions to be transferred to your account, at the end of the day the successful transactions must be confirmed by sending the transactions to the bank. To review and send all transactions to the bank, click the information button i and select Send transactions. In the information section, you can also view unsent transactions, the time last transactions were sent out, and company details. 11 After sending the transactions, the bank will send a report on transactions made in the Card Reader for Smartphones to your specified e-mail address (the one you specified for receiving bank reports). Money to your account is transferred on the next day after sending transaction confirmations to the bank. Transactions are processed at the bank during overnight processes. Please note that it will not be possible to conduct new transactions in the card reader app if you fail to send the bank the transactions from the previous working session within 24 hours. Note: if new transaction takes place after more than 14 days, then, pursuant to the payment card acquiring agreement, the bank does not guarantee the receipt of funds. Note: if you do not conduct transactions frequently, we recommend turning off the Smart Device app. Then the terminal will be in stand-by mode and this will save battery on the phone and the device. Ending work To turn off the Card Reader for Smartphones, press the yellow button 12 and - 13 at the same time. 12 13 7
