Setting Up Your Automated Gifts Command Center Guide Automated gifts are an easy and effective way to stay in touch with your customers. The system automatically triggers these mobile offers when customers meet certain criteria, such as their birthday or a set number of days since their last visit. With zero effort on your part, automated gifts arrive in the Front Flip app on your customers phones, giving them a great reason to come back to your business. The following types of automated gifts are available: New Customer: This one-time gift is sent to customers who scan your Front Flip code for the first time or who tap JOIN on your business profile in the app. New customers will receive your gift within 24 hours. This is a great way to motivate quick repeat visits. Win Back: These offers are sent to customers who have not scanned your Front Flip code in 30, 60, 90 or 180 days. It s a perfect way to remind customers about your business and invite them back in. We encourage you to be aggressive with these offers to re-engaged lapsed guests. Birthday: This gift is sent to customers once per year on their birthday. (Customers will receive only one birthday gift per calendar year, even if they change their birth date in the Front Flip app.) Social Boast: When customers earn an instant reward from your business, they can boast to their friends on Facebook and Twitter, which is great social exposure for your business. To thank them for spreading the word about your business, set up the social boast gift. You can automatically send out a thank-you offer after the first time a customer boasts (to encourage future social behavior) or after X number of social boasts. Holiday: Your Command Center offers pre-configured gifts for major US holidays throughout the year. All you need to do is define your offer, and Front Flip takes care of the rest. We even provide special holiday wrapping paper. Loyalty: This gift is sent to customers after a defined number of in-store scans. It takes the place of paper punch cards, enabling you to reward customers for repeat visits. You control the number of scans required to trigger a loyalty gift. Follow the steps below to set up your automated gifts. At minimum, we recommend that you set up the New Customer, Win Back and Birthday gifts. Questions? We re here to help. Launch the Auto-Gift Wizard The Automated Gift Wizard walks you through the gift setup process. It should take only about 5 minutes to complete the Wizard per gift type. 1. If you have multiple locations in your account, click the All Groups dropdown arrow in the topright corner of your screen. Then click Change Group. a. To set up automated gifts at the account level (meaning they will apply to all locations in the account), click All Groups, then click Select. b. To set up automated gifts for a specific group of locations within your account, click the group name, then click Select. 2. Click MARKETING in the top navigation bar, then click Automated Gifts. 3. Under My Automated Gift Campaigns, click the type of auto-gift you want to set up. (For example, New Customer Gift, Win Back 30 Days, etc.). 4. On the right-hand side of the screen, click the Setup Your Automated Gift button. The Automated Gift Wizard opens. Step 1: Define Your Offer When creating an offer in the Automated Gift Wizard, you can see exactly how it will display for customers in the Front Flip mobile app. It s a good idea to double check your settings on this screen to ensure that all conditions are clearly stated and that you have no typos or misspellings. 1. In the From field, enter the name of your business as it should appear to customers. 2. In the Message field, enter an introduction for your gift. This will display to customers before they unwrap the gift. (Note that you are limited to 85 characters.) Here are some sample messages: New Customer: Thanks for joining our Front Flip program! Here s a great offer for your next visit. Win Back: We miss you! Come back and take advantage of this delicious deal. Birthday: Happy birthday! You deserve a tasty treat from your friends at [business name]. 3. In the Gift field, enter the exact offer as it should appear to customers on their phones. You are limited to 42 characters. Here are some sample gifts that perform very well for Front Flip clients: Buy 1 Entrée, Get 1 Free 1/2 Price Appetizer $1 Off Any Seasonal Coffee $5 Off Your Next Salon Service 4. In the Gift Discount Value, enter the dollar value of the discount your customer will receive. For example, if you are offering a ½ price appetizer and your average appetizer is $8, the discount value would be $4. 5. In the Conditions field, enter any restrictions you want to place on the gift. For example: With purchase of [product]. Cannot be combined with other offers. 6. In the Valid For field, select the number of days your offer will remain on your customers phones. We recommend that gifts are valid for no fewer than 7 days so you can give customers enough time to visit and redeem. (Once your gift expires, it will be removed from customers phones.) 7. In the Share Limit field, select the number of times customers may share your gift with their friends. This field defaults to 3 shares. If you select 0, the Share with Friends button will not display to customers when they open your gift in the Front Flip app. 8. If you are creating an X Boast gift, you ll see a Has Boasted field. Enter the number of times customers must boast on Facebook or Twitter to receive your offer. 9. If you are creating a Holiday gift, you ll see a Send field. You can select to trigger your offer on the holiday, 1 day before, 2 days before or 1 week before. If you want to drive traffic on the actual holiday, we recommend that you send your gift 1 week before so customers have enough time to make their plans. 10. Step 2: Select Your Wrapping Paper The Front Flip Command Center comes pre-loaded with wrapping paper for nearly every gift-giving occasion. In addition to your own branded wrapping paper, you ll find designs for birthdays and major holidays. Scroll through the wrapping paper styles to see what s available, and click any style to preview it on the right. Once you ve made your selection, click Next. Step 3: Calculate Your ROI The Automated Gift Wizard allows you to calculate the average revenue and profit you ll realize when customers redeem their gifts. Once you activate the gift, ROI will be auto-calculated for you in real time on the Stats tab of the Automated Gifts page. 1. In the Average Guest Check / Person field, enter the average amount each guest spends in your business (for example, $12). 2. In the Average Number of People Per Ticket field, enter the average size of your guest parties (for example, 3). The ROI calculator will display your average revenue per ticket minus the gift discount value you entered in step 1 of the Wizard. 3. In the Margin field, enter your margin after product costs (for example, food costs and paper costs associated with the food). Do not factor in labor, utilities and other operating costs that would not be affected by your Front Flip program. Once you enter your margin, the Wizard will calculate your average profit per redemption. 4. Verify your settings and click Next. 2014 Front Flip LLC frontflip.com 4

Step 4: Confirm Your Settings Carefully review your gift settings, including the gift preview on the right-hand side of the screen. Once you ve verified that your settings are correct, click Save & Finish. 2014 Front Flip LLC frontflip.com 5

Edit an Auto-Gift You can update your automated gifts at any time, and we recommend that you do so at least once per year to keep the offers fresh for your customers. To edit a gift, click the gift type under My Automated Gift Campaigns. Then click the Edit link for any characteristic of the gift you want to change (for example, the offer, the redemption period, the wrapping paper, etc.). Any changes you make to an automated gift will go into effect immediately. If a customer already has the gift on their phone, your changes will be reflected. Deactivate an Auto-Gift Once you ve set up your automated gifts, they will run for the life of your Front Flip program. So if you set up a gift for Valentine s day this year, that same gift will be sent on Valentine s Day next year, unless you make changes. If you need to turn a gift off, you can do so with a single click of the mouse. Look for the Make this gift inactive control in the upper-right corner of your screen. Click Off to deactivate the gift. Please note that if you turn the gift back on at a later date, your redemption activity will start over and a new entry will be made on the Campaign History tab.
