You will also learn about the skin and which products suit each different skin type to ensure longevity of the makeup. The course will focus on bridal and special occasion makeup however if there is something specific you would like to learn please let us know and we will try to tailor to your specific needs. You will have products and brushes to use whilst on the course and will have a work package that you can take home with you. See dates in table on pages 9 12 10am till 5pm 2 Day Airbrush Makeup Course A two day intensive course that will teach you all you need to know about using an airbrush and to apply makeup from Bridal to HDTV you will be using the most up to date techniques. During the course you will learn how to strip down the airbrush, trouble shooting and the correct way to use the airbrush for a variety of techniques. The course is fully accredited by The Guild which means it is a recognised certificate which will enable you to buy insurance to protect you and your client when working with an airbrush. All equipment and products are provided on the course; however you can buy a kit which is priced from 220 with Mistair, including products, the compressor and the air gun. During this course you have 1 professional photo shoot in which you will be given a brief and are to design the makeup look for a professional shoot, this must also include styling the shoot and designing nails and hair to complement the makeup that you have designed. You will learn about the tanning brand Vita Liberata and how this is the only tanning brand that is 100% chemical free tan, many celebrities use and endorse the tan even Kim Kardashian who has her own brand of tan but chooses to use Vita Liberata due to its health benefits, beautiful colour and because it is the only tan that fades naturally, which means you don't get any nasty tan patches when the tan is fading. You will be offered an exclusive professional spray tan package that you can buy after you have passed the course which is exclusive to the academy which means you will not get the package cheaper any where else. See dates in table on pages 9-12 1 day SFX Media Course - Introduction to special effects A one day of training in special effects, you will learn how to create a number of special effects such as black eyes or burns using the professional products that are used in TV and film. You will be given the knowledge to be able to carry out a small number of special effects and will be given the opportunity to photograph your work throughout the day. The course is great fun and a brilliant idea if you work in a beauty salon as it will give you another skill that you can offer for children or adults parties and Halloween or you can do it just for fun! Children aged 14 and over are allowed onto this course providing they have parental consent however they will be to have a skin test first, adults will be recommended to call in for a skin test however it is not mandatory but you will be to sign a consent form for the use of the products on you during the course. As part of your case study you will be to carry out 4 sets of lashes and one removal showing before and after images for each case study. See dates in table on pages 9-12 1 day HD Brow Course with Hi Brow A one day training course learning all of the tips, techniques and steps to mastering how to style the brows HD style, you will learn how to measure the brows precisely for the best shapes to suit a variety of face shapes. You will learn the Hi Brow way of the steps which includes how to measure, wax, tweeze, thread, colour and style the brows, the treatment is endorsed by many celebrities and can be a very lucrative career just on its own as a treatment. You will be provided on the course with all that you require to carry out the treatment and you will be able to buy a work station from Hi Brow at a discounted rate if you order and pay on the day or pre-order prior to the course so that you have it to take away with you once you have completed the training. Training begins with a detailed demonstration, and working through the comprehensive instruction booklet, you will understand how to design brows to suit all face shapes, taking into account age, style and requests of each client. You will learn about and complete practical work and assessment to achieve the safe application of lash lifting and tinting. We are able to offer this course at a fraction of the price of other beauty providers as we only take small numbers per class, keeping the costs down. We have tutors who are experts in their field, very friendly and are able to help you with any questions you have on the day to make sure that you gain the best knowledge about this therapy to use with your clients. See dates in table on pages 9-12 20 week Intensive VTCT Level 3 Makeup Artistry Course A 20 week course, which will include training on all aspects of makeup artistry see list below for the course contents. You will also learn how to run your own business as a freelance makeup artist. The course will include some types of work experience with MelVicMakeup as and when the opportunities arise they will be announced to you and you will be given the option to apply to attend each experience, you will even be assessed during some of the work experience such as photo shoots or filming as this will help to give you a realistic portfolio. You will learn everything you need to know about being a successful makeup artist, you will learn all of the tricks of the trade and you will leave the course with extensive product knowledge along with learning about techniques in applying makeup for many occasions including photographic makeup and learning about historic periods of makeup and hair. The Academy has a large range of creative crafts and accessories to help make your work look professional and to give you real experience of creating your own designs that will help showcase your work to a professional standard, you will also build a portfolio of pictures of your work that will be given to you to help you build a professional portfolio. 7
