Welcome to NAPA Excellence Navigation tips V.02/2012

Home page Six buttons are displayed in the centre of the screen with a description next to each. In the right section, you find useful links such as: Navigation tips, Assign courses to employees, Top favorite courses of the month, List of new courses, etc. Click on the links to open the documents. If you prefer to surf with the left menu options, they are the same options as the buttons.

Take a course and navigate in the catalogue Step 1: Click on the «Training Catalog» button. Step 2: Click on the desired category and click on See the selection. The courses will be displayed at the bottom of the screen. You can also do a search by keywords. When you see a«+» sign in front of the category, click on it to display the sub categories.

Take a course and navigate in the catalogue Step 3: Click on the course title (in red). Step 4: Click on the «Register» button to activate the course. Once activated, the course will be transferred in the «My training» button/link. Click on «My training».

Take a course and navigate in the catalogue Step 5: You are now registered into the course. Click on the red title. If you wish to see the course details, click on the small «i» button on the right.

Take a course and navigate in the catalogue To unregister to a course: 1. Click on My Training and again on My Training tab. 2. Click on Unregister 3. Click on the course title 4. Click on Unregister

CARS supplier courses Most courses (technical and management) come from the supplier CARS OnDemand. When you select one of these courses, here is how it works.

CARS supplier courses Click on the Learning guide prior to beginning the course. You will need this guide during the video. Once the video is completed, click on Start Exam to complete your online exam. The small black window is where the course will be displayed. This is a video and you can stop, fast forward or pause the course at any time using the appropriate buttons. To enlarge the window to «full screen» click right on your mouse and select «zoom full screen». If you wish to quit the video and continue later, click on Save and continue later. The video will start at the right place when you come back.

CARS supplier courses Very important: There are a lot of options at the right hand side of the screen. Only 2 are available for you as a student. My Exam Results Reset My Exam To print a certificate from CARS supplier courses only, you need to click on My exam results. A button will appear on the screen to allow the printing of the certificate.

CARSability CARSAbility is a very useful tool to assess employees training needs. 34 occupational assessment types are available and they cover most of the job positions in our industry. An assessment can be completed in approximately 1 ½ hour. You can complete the assessment in more than one attempt. Click on the CARSability button to start an assessment.

CARSability Click on Start new Assessment Pick the assessment that is close to your job position. Click on it. (You can complete more than one assessment if you wish).

Click on Begin Assessment. Click on Create Assessment.

Answer the 100 questions and at the end, click on submit responses. You can complete the assessment in many attempts if necessary. It takes about 1 ½ hour to complete it. To view your own results, click on View personal assessment results. To view your employee s results, click on View shop member assessment results. Then select the name of the employee and click on details (at the right and from there follow the indications).

4 options: Assessment score Incorrect questions Question response times Training recommendations We recommend you 2 options: (Score and Training recommendations). Click on the options. When you click on Assessment score, you can see your grade in % as well as your correct and incorrect questions. You can click on the red boxes to see what your answers versus the correct ones were.

When you click on Recommended training, you will see every tasks evaluated in the assessment. For each task, you have the number of questions asked and your incorrect answers. When you have a high percentage of error, you should focus your training on these subjects in priority. Click on the tasks (on the blue titles) that you don t master well to see what training we recommend you to take to improve your knowledge.

You will find the recommended trainings. We suggest you to print this page. Then go in the training catalog to find the courses. All training courses are based on a star rating that identifies which courses most closely relate to your skills gap. See the legend below the course suggestions. It is recommended you follow courses with 3 or 4 stars.

View your history and print a certificate Step 1: Click on the «My Training» button. Step 2: Click on the «My History» tab. If a certificate is available, you will find an icon at the right. Click on it. ** Attention: to print a CARS course certificate, you need to re enter in the CARS course and you must go in the right menu and click on View my exam result.

The Library Click on the «Library» button. Its structure is the same as the one used in the training catalogue. Click on a category to view the available documents. The library will evolve in time.

Manage employees training and reports All managers with employees under their supervision have access to the «Administration» link. You can view their training history, print reports and view the employee profiles. The «Users» button allows you to consult each employee s profile. The «Training» button allows you to consult each employee s training history. The «Report» button allows you to generate a training history report for your store or garage.

Manage employees training and reports Users tab: View employee profile Click on «USERS» and then on «USERS LIST». You will see a list of your employees appear at the right. Click on the proper employee s name and you will get his/her profile.

Manage employee training and reports «Training» tab : Allows you to consult each employee s training history. To consult your employees training history, click on the «Training» tab and then on «Supervision by Users». Click on the employee s name. His/her history will be displayed at the right of the screen.

Manage employee training and reports Reports tab: Allows you to print and view some reports on your store/shop training history. Click on «Reports» and «Reports». Click on «Training Summary by User». Click on the type of file you need (Excel, PDF, etc.) and click on «Generate this report».

Change your language and password The «My profile» button allows you to check your name and e mail address and lets you choose the language you prefer. You can also change your password. Don t forget to click on «save» IMPORTANT: DO NOT change any other information than your email, language and password.

Take your messages Allows you to consult the messages published by NAPA Excellence. You must click on «My Messages» and the list of messages will be displayed.
