EPR ANNUAL CONFERENCE 27 28 JUNE 2012 FEVIK, NORWAY Practical Information and Social Activities 1. Welcome to Southern Norway for the 2012 Annual Conference The EPR Annual Conference takes place in Fevik, a small village boasting one of the most beautiful beaches in Southern Norway. Fevik has been a major tourist area since the 1930s as well as an historical shipyard and centre for boat-builders. The whole area surrounding Fevik is a national nature reserve, with many interesting natural features and surrounded by beautiful small islands. Fevik is located 7 kilometres from Grimstad and 12 from Arendal. What to bring? June is a magical month in Northern Europe: do not be surprised if the days stretch long after midnight and if it never gets really dark. However, summer in Norway is not always warm, especially in the evening. We recommend participants to take warm clothes with them and some mosquito repellent especially for the conference dinner which should take place outside, weather permits. The conference venue is located just in front of the beach, and the Strand Hotel Fevik guests are free to enjoy the hotel s spa facilities. Two good reasons to bring swimwear.
