Ifield May Fayre 2016. May Queen and Attendants Wanted! The Ifield May Fayre are now looking for this year s May Queen and her attendants to reign on Monday 2 nd May at the Ifield May Fayre. To be considered for May Queen you must: Be a maiden of 14+ Be happy to make a short speech to open the May Day Fayre Be involved in the Ifield Community (e.g. St Margaret s Church or Ifield Barn Arts) We also need four attendants to accompany the May Queen on the day. To be an attendant you should be Aged 7+ Be involved in the Ifield Community in some way (e.g. St Margaret s Church or Ifield Barn Arts) To be considered for either May Queen or Attendant, send your name, age, a parent/guardian s name, contact phone number and email address and why you should be the 2016 May Queen in 100 words or less! It's that time of year again when the Ifield May Fayre Committee are looking for locations for Ifield May Fayre 'Estate Agent' boards, you might have seen them in previous years placed by Connells. BRIC-A-BRAC STALL AT MAY FAYRE Roy Bayliss is organising the bric-a-brac stall this year and would like you all to bring your contributions along to the Barn from the 23 rd April. Please don t bring anything before then! We have productions on in the Theatre and will not have the space to store them! Also, there is always a need for help at the May Fayre. If you would like to volunteer, then contact Sally McRae - (see email). NEWSLETTER DISTRIBUTION In our last newsletter we asked for those of our members who could receive the Newsletter by email, but did not currently do so, to contact our Membership Secretary and request to be added to the email list. Thank you to the few that responded. However, we know there are still those among you who regularly contact others by email but still want the Newsletter printed and posted to them. Please Note that tickets for all Green Room events are available from Joyce Croad (see email) unless otherwise stated. PLEASE NOTE: SUNDAY LUNCH TICKETS ARE ONLY AVAILABLE FROM BEHIND THE BAR (FIRST COME BASIS!) NOT FROM JOYCE! We have a lot of productions on in the Barn during March and April (also Easter!) which means we are not able to have as many Green Room events as usual. Normal service will be resumed from May! However..we are still doing our lunches! Sunday 6 th March 1pm Here s your chance to come along and enjoy one of our regular (1 st Sunday in the month) value for money meals. Good food, no cooking or washing up! Watch the notice board for details. Tickets from behind the Bar as usual. Sunday 3 rd April 1pm Another fine dining experience! As above, look out for details on the notice board. 5

Friday 25 th March (Good Friday) Bar Closed! Sunday 27 th March (Easter Sunday) Friday 15 th April 8pm The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel! We showed the first Marigold Hotel film last year and you loved it, so, here s the follow up (with Richard Gere!!!!) Bar will be open! Unfortunately SHOWTIME, which was meant to be on our calendar in February, had to be cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances. We hope to organise this again later on. We are already planning events for the forthcoming months watch out for more details in the next Newsletter. Finally. Don t forget to come along to the May Fayre on Monday 2 nd May and help raise funds for both The Barn and St. Margaret s Church. Keep your fingers crossed for good weather! 6

Nice to see Margaret Graham back at the Barn after her recent ill health good to see you on the mend Margaret! KEITH BRIDGEMAN It is with regret that we report the passing of Keith Bridgeman. Keith had been in poor health for quite a while and sadly passed away on the 25 th January. As a LIFE member of the Barn, Keith had performed in many of our earlier productions and continued to support us in later years. We send our condolences to his wife Lek. MEMBER S REPRESENTATIVE Just to remind you, in case you have forgotten (or, for the information of our newer members!) I am the Member s Representative on the Board of the Barn. If you have any issues or suggestions regarding the Barn, or need to know who to talk to about getting involved in any of our activities, then contact me: Joyce Croad.
